I-70 is closed in both directions at 6th Ave. due to a partial bridge collapse. Several cars were crushed. Rescue crews are on scene and heavy equipment has been called in. Reports say some deaths SOURCE HERE

We need to stop all bridge construction and bring our drivers home now. It's a quagmire.

It's been a long time since I resided in Denver but 6th Ave. used to suck. Way too much volume, narrow lanes, it needed upgrading back then, maybe it has been.

Shame about this accident though. Prayers for the victims, families.

You got that right, could have been a major calamity.
Fox airing more video now. Car was chopped in half. Front half apparently traveled some distance before it stopped. Rear half still under the beam.
Three confirmed fatals.

Prayers for them and their families.
At least it was quick.

Witness on now - saw it come down & car drive right into it. A second car was "clipped" and may be the one reported to have rolled over.

Colorado has been a dangerous place lately. Wasn't it just yesterday that they had 2 separate train derailments? One was hit by a landslide and the other went into a river.

My son drove under that beam on his way to a track meet
this morning about an hour before it fell. I am still
shaking thinking that it could have been him in the accident.

We all know exactly how you feel, Husk. The Good Shepherd was by your son's side today. Relax, but keep occupied today. Freeping is a great way to calm the mind (most of the time, anyway, lol). We love ya, good buddy.
