Berg is sounding more like a spy than anything but who as he spying for?
Couldn't be Israel. No way they would send in a spy with a Jewish name, looking American and carrying a passport with an Israel stamp in it.
It's certainly not implausible. Expats frequently get recruited overseas when they stay in one spot long enough and seem like lone rangers. When I was working in Moscow some years back I was recruited by both the Mossad and the FSB. The Mossad lady was quite odd, but it was nice walking around the city with her (she knew it much better than I did). The incompetent FSB dude annoyingly followed me around all the time, but he was friendly enough when I dragged him in out of the snow in the middle of the night after he got drunk & passed out so he wouldn't freeze his stupid a&& to death....
Both recruitment efforts were futile, BTW, if that need be said..
But it is sounding more and more like Nick Berg and his father are Al Qaeda sympathizers who sold their out their country (and father Berg his son) for the anti-war, anti-Bush group ANSWER.
How much do you want to bet that George Soros is a financial backer of Al Qaeda.
I freely admitted that I had my tin foil hat on yesterday when I opined he might be a spy of some sort. Now I'm not so sure the hat was needed....
