I mentioned the lack of blood to Nancy as we watched the video three times in succession.

She was a nurse and said there was a small dark area on the floor.

I said the quality was so bad it could have been a hoax.

Of course my first reaction was horror and anger; only later did it occur there was at least one break/cut in the video.

After viewing the thing I began to wonder, "Why would the masked idiots [in the film] risk galvanizing a nation like the United States of America much as the Japanese did when they attacked Pearl Harbor?"

We are outraged yes, but I am rather surprised at the lack of lead time this got with the media. Are the terrorists so sure that we are now weakened by the constant attacks on Bush and the war that they have no fear of us?

There were two separate video cameras going when the murder was taking place. It is suspected that the first narration by Nicholas took place on the previous day. The video was then made into one tape for public viewing.

That he read his statement the first day and no harm came to him may very well have given Nicholas a false sense of security or at least an unawareness of what was to come. Notice that the animal hid his weapon from Nicholas until the moment.

The question we should be asking is why the media is helping the barbarians by not focusing on the brutal murders but on the naked prisoners.

Are you saying that they didn't let him shave his beard.....But they let him shave his mustache?

Some guys don't have a lot of natural upper-lip hair, 'specially when young. I remember in high school and college, a few of my friends got thick beards fairly young but only very wispy upper lip hair until later -- the reverse of the more usual pattern where the moustache grows in first.

I have a hard time believing that a Muslim would shave the moustache but not the beard -- they all seem to prefer full facial hair, or moustache only. Shaving the upper lip but letting the beard grow is an Amish custom.
