Berg's encounter with "terrorist" revealed
CNN ^ | 5/13/04 | Kelli Arena

Posted on 05/13/2004 10:08:58 PM PDT by gandalftb

According to Berg, his son was taking a course a few years ago at a remote campus of the University of Oklahoma near an airport. He described how on one particular day, his son met "some terrorist people -- who no one knew were terrorists at the time."

At one point during the bus ride, Berg said, the man sitting next to his son asked if he could use Nick's laptop computer.

"It turned out this guy was a terrorist and that he, you know, used my son's e-mail, amongst many other people's e-mail who he did the same thing to," Berg said.

Government sources said Berg gave the man his password, which was later used by Moussaoui, the sources said.

The person who used Berg's computer and email was Zacarious Moussaoui!

On News/Activism 05/13/2004 2:51:35 PM PDT #112 of 158

Here's the kicker folks, Berg's email address wasn't just passed around, Moussaoui's email traffic came from Berg's computer.

Looks like Fox once again may have botched a breaking story....Berg never actually met Moussaoui, but someone who knew Moussaoui.

Wrote email to be sent later ? Presumably on a bus there was no connection unless Berg had a cellphone tied to his PC.

Pretty dumb.. would you give your password to a stranger on a bus LOL

Not real sure what to make of this story / connection.

I tend to believe where there is smoke there's fire

Something about this whole thing stinks to high heaven.

I stand by my posts this afternoon, the email traffic originated from Berg's computer. Had to be online at the time. Who would give up their password for someone to use on any old computer, any old time they wanted? Come on. Did an email on a bus to be sent later? And who was going to field the response? Were they going top meet on the bus again?

Hmmm on a bus ride. Did he have a wireless connection?

I don't understand this anymore. Password to what exactly? Anyone can get a hotmail account; why would the terrorist need Berg's email?

< putting asbestos undies on>

This guy Nick Berg, I can't put my finger on it yet,
< hang on, putting on flame proof overalls>
but he either had to be incredibly ignorant or
< sorry, gotta get my flame proof parka on now>
there is WAY more to this story than we know.
Okay, let's err on the side of ignorant. Even the dumbest folk wouldn't give out their passwords to an arab after 9/11.
And, even after being interviewed by the FBI about terrorists duping him, he goes to THE hotbed of terrorist activity? To sell antenna's?

umm..err....Am I the only one that thinks there's a ton of info were not hearing about?

Side note, I heard something about an Israeli passport? Anyone hook me up with skinny on that?

Not real sure what to make of this story

Let me help you. Nick's father is a moron. He is trying his damndest to spin his son in any way that casts a favourable light on Nick, while leaving open the attack dog doors of his fanatical leftist leanings.

Poor Nick was unknowningly duped by an international terrorist on his way to school, let the guy borrow his laptop to send an email...a complete stranger if we are to believe Nick's dad. And of course he gave the complete stranger his email and his PASSWORD....

Give me a freaking break. If Zacharias needed to send an email, he could have simply typed it into the email editor...and Nick could have pushed send...

What a complete and utter crock of crap...who here has ever given there password to a friggin stranger so he could send email? Nick's dad is an idiot, and is counting on the rest of us to be as stupid as he is...

I will bet you he visits MoveOn.org and C.A.N.S.W.E.R through his 14.4k modem and AOL Optimized...

You know, this whole Berg thing is starting to stink!

Why was he in Iraq?

How did he get in the hands of the terrorists?

Why does his dad claim the terrorists killed "the best friend they ever had"?

Something doesn't add up here.

From the article:
"According to [the senior] Berg..."

Ah, that explains everything.

I heard something about an Israeli passport?

He had an American passport, but it had been stamped in Israel. He was in and out of Iraq after he got to Iraq...presumably via Jordan...

He originally touched down in Jordan when he went to Iraq...

One purely speculative theory of mine is this:
Berg was in Iraq with the comm tower non-job for cover-for-action to travel around odd places.

His real mission was to act as a messenger, trying to become a go-between from Int'l A.N.S.W.E.R. to Al Queda. I mean, ANSWER can't exactly just pick up a phone to call Al Queda. To communicate with them, you have to GO to where they ARE, and fish around dropping hints, until you're picked up.

That's when you tell them the glorious news: you have come from a group "allied in the struggle against the Western imperialists" yadda yadda. You have a message, and an offer to coordinate activities, or perhaps hints on how to tweak their operations for the best effect, IOW, what and when to pull an operation which will result in the defeat of George W. Bush in November.

You expect to be treated fairly well, perhaps roughed up like the fake Japanese hostages/peace activists. After all, you can't talk to Al Queda, and just walk away like nothing happened.

But they saw the Jewish name Berg, and the Israeli passport stamp, and that trumped his ANSWER credentials. When the AG Prison scandal hit the papers.... Nick went on to serve a higher Al Queda purpose: human sacrifice on film.

That's why Daddy Berg (Mr. ANSWER) said "They killed their best friend."

The above is pure speculation on my part.

The father keeps referring to his son as a friend of the terrorists. That's troubling to me.

How did he get in the hands of the terrorists?

YES, that is what I want to know..So far, all I have heard is he was "released" and then, he's in terrorists' captivity. He refused a State Dept. offer for a flight home to pursue his own means home?

Ya...just a little...Berg Sr. said..."They [AQ] didn't know what they were doing...He [Nick] was their [AQ] best friend"
