We may prevail in the long run actually. The 1862 Union states have stumbled a bit into a lib abyss.

speaking of virility....Bourbon? Ah, yes. Bourbon, the water of life. A powerful and, dare I say, potent potion it is.
It may be difficult for y'all to conceive of Bourbon in the role of paterfamilias, but the little dram should spring forth from Ms. Bourbon any day now.
(I, on the other hand, have no trouble conceiving of this thought, much less conceiving in general.) :-)

Thomas Raspberry Byrd So, is it possible that William Rasberry (another Mississippian) is descended from your family's former "employees?"

I don't know....I hope not. William Raspberry is a whiner.
...seriously...that branch of my family were actually not gentry and had few if any slaves.
...now my paternal grandmother's folks were landed and had quite a few admittedly....whether young squires partook in houseservant's favors is a mystery to me.

Ya'll pray for me.
My daughters are here from NYC for 4 days. The oldest at 15 has become a shrill lib....."Lord grant me the patience".....
...it's precisely the sins of the father revisited.
the younger daughter is more of a realist....and tuffer...thanks G-d for small favors.

I think I had a relative who fought on the Confederate side during the civil war, being that my Great-Grandfather came from Mississippi.

Excellent. I've always been facinated by our forefathers - we can learn quite a bit from their lives.

My great great Grandpa who was at Vicksburg as a supplies runner for the CSA at age 14 outlived 3 of 4 wives and had 23 children including several after aged 75.
Lord have mercy, wardaddy,
you're related to almost everyone in MS.
"In the water and the genes" and the jeans also?
wardaddy, why are you spelling G-d the Jewish way?
bourbon, you keep us informed on the baby!
