Investigators Look Into Finances Of Local Muslim Cleric Damra Faces Charges Of Tax Evasion, Money Laundering, Mail Fraud

CLEVELAND -- A local Muslim cleric accused of hiding terrorist ties now has federal investigators looking into his finances.

Federal prosecutors are checking the financial records of Fawaz Mohammed Damra, 41. It could lead to charges of tax evasion, money laundering, and mail and wire fraud, NewsChannel5 reported.

Damra, the leader of the Islamic Center of Cleveland, is also accused of concealing terrorist ties on his U.S. citizenship application.

Prosecutors revealed the financial investigation while explaining to a judge how they plan to use evidence seized in a search of Damra's Strongsville home in January.

Damra's lawyers want the judge to exclude the evidence seized from the cleric's home.

If convicted in the trial scheduled to begin June 15, Damra could lose his citizenship and be sentenced to up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Many of you may or not remember this but sometime, relatively shortly, after 9-11 a very intoxicated young man drove his mustang at a high rate of speed through the front doors of a mosque outside of Cleveland.

He trashed the car, the inside of the mosque (for as far as the stang went in) and his legs. He was also arrested and charged with some semblence of a hate crime I believe.

I have been told that this is the muslim cleric for that very mosque.

Looks like the kid was right.

The impulsiveness of youth is not always wrong. I know the kid got some time for that. I hope he's out, and ok.

Deport all of them. They can have 30 minutes to gather their important possesions, we'll ship the rest to their final destination. Hell, I vote we pay for the freight, and the airline tickets! We'll sell their property(ies)at market value, and send them the proceeds...just so no one confuses us with Nazis. Ooops, they already do. Oh well. Next, we refuse entry to all Muslims into this country for any reason.

Now see, there's the problem. Muslims come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and nationalities these days. The more evil minded they are, the craftier they become. Our country has a major problem on our hands.

A large portion can easily be identified. I personally know around 30 of them about half of which are wahabbi types. They've given me a hatred for all things Islam that I've never had before. Its unbelievable!!!!

I've known some very nice people from the Middle East over the years, but not well enough to know if they were Muslim or Christian. Our family doctor, and the guys who ran the mini mart in particular. Other than them, I don't know any...and I sure don't want to start :-( Sad, isn't it?

I was actually friends with some of these people prior to 9-11. After that event they showed their true colors. I received e-mails from some of them that Im sure youve seen, about how 4000 Jews didnt show up for work on 9-11....the Jews control america, blah..blah. One guy brought in a list. At the top of the page it said "Jews in the US govt." It was 5 pages of a name, what govt. agency they worked for and after that it said Jew. Im glad they opened my and many others eyes. After showing my disgust and ridiculing them, they later regretted ever showing me their BS. They would become very nervous and uncomfortable around me.

I haven't seen the people I mentioned since we moved, so I don't know how they reacted. I can imagine how disgusted you must have been, seeing friends behave like that. That list is frightening. The list you were shown is frightening. Did you share what you saw with "anyone"?

I sent an email to the FBI, naming those. I wasnt the only one who did so. I also knew that by not reading their propaganda and tossing it in the trash in front of them, they would be insulted. I wish I would've kept it, but I wasnt thinking clearly. I do have the email. These people are now resident docs at a hospital and I am going to send copies to their fellow residents and hospital staff. I can at least take care of 2 of them.

I'm glad you turned them in. It seems wherever these people live, their only loyalty is to Islam. Don't forget to send copies to the hospital director or administrator. Whoever is running the show. We all need to be aware more than ever.
