Your point is valid because it helps show up the enemy as devoid of any humanity or decency.

It is a regularity of human behavior that irrational people want to punish offenses with much more severe retaliation. While it is true that we are in danger of being suckered into this position by advocating wholesale nuking of Iraqi cities in response to terrorist acts, it is also true that we are in even greater danger of hobbling our own troops by requiring them to play by Marquis of Queensbury rules.

Reminds me of the "Lynch Calley" movement during the Vietnam War. The first and loudest calls for Calley's head came from those who ran away from combat fastest.

Moral relativism is indeed a dangerous thing. But it is even more dangerous to capitulate to a depraved enemy.

Well, remember that we are dealing with those who are practicing the only True Religion worshipping the only True God. Thus, there is a double standard. To argue for fairness between the Faithful and the Infidel would mitigate against global Salvation.

Thus, when they hide behind their own women and children when they fire at the Infidel, they see no cowardice on their part.
All they see is their women and children being put in harms way when the fire is returned.

When you as a finite being fancy yourself in possession of the Infinite Truth, you can do no wrong. When you have two opposing parties holding the same view, you have a Holy War. Fortunately this is not the case for most of us on our side.

I am mindful of your point and agree with you 100%,I am just contrasting the way our media and some of our politicians are handling each issue.

I'd much rather see a M.O.A.B than an apology.

Just downloaded and viewed a copy of the Nick Berg beheading video. It is very disturbing and should not be viewed by anyone who doesn't have the stomach for it.

NIN has it here:

I put a copy on my server in case other links are overwhelmed:

You want my answer? In terms of the price in lives, the prison abuse is the worse atrocity.

Why? Because it gives the salamikazes the opportunity to commit murder, and to make it seem justified and desirable -- at least to other like-minded thugs.

Moreover, the prison abuse makes it more difficult for our guys to track and dispose of the types of bastards who do this sort of thing.

And there's no telling how many lives will be lost due to the political fallout from the prison abuse -- consider the presidency of John F'n Kerry....

they said it was in retaliation for the prisoner abuse. Is this true?

It's what they said ... but that was just their excuse, not their reason for killing him.

While we sat, safe in our homes, and argued back and forth a myriad of beliefs, opinions and concerns, a man was held captive by Islamic terrorists.
While we sat, safe in our homes, and argued back and forth a myriad of beliefs, opinions and concerns, a man had no knowledge of what was going on in the outside world.
While we sat, safe in our homes, and argued back and forth a myriad of beliefs, opinions and concerns, a man was brutally murdered, unbeknownst to us all.

How many of us, in retrospect, would concede to the actions taken against the "detainees" if just one of them could've given the location where that young man was being held at to prevent his murder?

Today is another day that will live in infamy.

The only connection there should be between these 2 events is the response that a Senator immediatly moves to close all hearings on the prison abuse with out any findings. Let the military handle it.

Muzlims cutting off peoples heads has been going on for 1500 years.

Anybody "shocked" by this brutal murder obviously doesn't know what we are dealing with.

Just wait until they start with the WMD in our cities.

They laugh at us over our concern about the prison "scandal".

They don't need a reason to chop somebody's head off.
