I saw a video of an russian solder beheaded once? Incredible gruesome and depressing. I'm assuming this will be even more horrible. I don't think I'll watch.
To: eastforker
Whatever. You know nothing about me, sir. You want to watch the video, have it.
Now who's the hypocrite?
Perhaps if you actually read my posts, you would see that I never supported exposing those pictures, but I (unlike some people here) see the paramount importance of resolving the issue in a very public matter. It doesn't matter how the matter started, it doesn't matter who leaked it. The only thing that matters is reality. It's my belief that anyone who thinks the biggest fish to fry here regarding the prisoner abuse is the media doesn't have a single clue why we're in the Middle East, who's support we need, and how we're going to be successful. You can scream till you're blue in the face that it's unfair and unjust to make such a big deal about it, but the deal has already been made big. The only thing that matters is how to freakin' stop the bleeding and get public opinion back on our side.
Instead, you'd rather sit on your lawn chair waving the flag while the building is burning to the ground. It doesn't matter what you or I think about it. It's not going to affect the war. If we come off as no better than Saddam, it will compromise our ENTIRE War on Terror, and provide false JUSTIFICATION for terrorist cells and their patrons to sponsor and carry out terrorist attacks, for example, the murder of Nick Berg.
The people who perpetrated the action in that prison need to be dealt with harshly. They have done more harm to this nation than you care to realize. We have high-level members of the Cabinet being told to step down, the President spends most of his time apologizing, and we look like a bunch of thugs.
Who exactly, is putting America first? You, who want the issue swept under your rug while the rest of the world passes judgment, or me, who wants accountability for the irresponsible, incomprehensible actions of soldiers sworn to uphold the reputation of the armed services? If you cannot determine the difference from someone "blaming America" and someone who sees the folly in this whole stupid episode, then I can't help you. Go ahead and keep waving the flag while Bush is voted out of office instead of nipping this in the bud right now and preserving his chances at re-election.

It is posted on websites that have been followed for a considerable length of time by terrorism analysts. It is real :(
The military confirmed yesterday that they found Berg's body. The media said it had "signs of obvious trauma". Gross understatement.

Waht about Mr. Lawson? Was getting his nephew off worth this?

You can thank your friendly neighborhood Democrat or CBS (ghoul TV) for this death.
Let us not forget the lunatic Hackworth. I personally thanked him in the following manner:
I read an article this past weekend where you had put a relative of the Iraqi prison guard in touch with 60 Minutes II. Today, I read this:
"...video posted Tuesday on an Islamic militant Web site appeared to show a group affiliated with al-Qaida beheading an American in Iraq, saying the death was revenge for the prisoner-abuse scandal."
With the big deal that was made of the photos, as well as the world wide liberal media blitz, I have to wonder just how much you really care about the American Grunt who is walking the razors edge in defense of this nation against barbaric scum who would murder all of us regardless of where our troops are.
In other words, thanks for nothing, MOTHERF#*$ER!

If you feel moved to send Hackworth(less) your own personal thanks, he can be reached at teagles@hackworth.com.

Let the word ring forth from this time and this place. You kill an American, any American, we dont come back with a proportional response, we come back with total disaster!

It was bad. You don't want to see the expression on the face as it's held up to the camera. Worse than the Pearl video.

The problem is we are ALREADY giving Muslims foreign aid and building hospitals, schools, and mosques for THEM to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. We are fools. Our leaders would rather apologize like craven dogs, whimpering about an event that is no worse than college hazing. Now, watch what happens after the Berg beheading. We will probably have another dose of politically correct propaganda forced down our throats about how Islam is the "religion of peace."

"If this (beheading)was a response to abuse that didn't happen, WTF is going to be held responsible for it? "
quoted here that it WAS in response:
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/05112004_iraq_missingman.html "A video posted Tuesday on an Islamic militant Web site
showed a group affiliated with al-Qaida beheading an American contractor
in Iraq, saying the death was revenge for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by
American soldiers."

I just watched it and it is the most vicious, horrible act I have ever seen. I saw the Daniel Pearl video as well but this will stay with me for a very long time!

No. Don't be too sorry. I feel Damn sorry for Berg, but I think seeing it is not worth being sorry about. My only regret is that the atrocity ( a REAL ONE) took place at all. But maybe we need to see this sh*t again to know just what the heck is going on between us and the Islamofascists.
I was actually starting to feel a little bad for the "abused prisoners". Now I'm merely irritated that the idiot soldiers involved taped their perversity - let 'em rot, we got a war to win. And OLD MEDIA can take a flying f*** at a running camel!

It may be time to do what the Romans did to Cathage. Made a desert and call it peace. Kill them all, salt the fields, poison the wells leave the land unfit for live for generations.
