Hopefully President Bush is keeping score. The Bush family had a long and close relationship with the Saudi royal family. IMHO that all fell apart in the aftermath of 9/11. The Saudis have probably cooperated less with the U.S. in the matter of Islamic terrorism than anyone this side of North Korea.

In other words, they have repeatedly stabbed Bush as well as the United States in the back. I believe that Bush understands this, and will take measures when the time comes.

However, the President still finds it appropriate to refer to the Saudis and Americans as having an "Eternal Friendship."
