I believe that all men are created equal :-)
Why do we need monarchy? Black George, the founder of Karadjordjevic dinasty was elected in popular assembly, as well as Milos Obrenovic, of Obrenovic dinasty.
If international situation was different, Serbs would continue that way of electing their leaders. Maybe they would introduce presidential position, who knows.
Even if we restore monarchy, do you think king would rule? No, we need politicians again. Like England. Parliamentary monarchy. King rules, but doesn't govern :-)
Besides, why should we bring back Karadjordjevic dinasty? Because of King Aleksandar, we entered joint state with croats, instead creating one strong serbian state. That was the seed of our XX century collapse. Black George, he did what he could, but he was elected. Besides King Peter I Karadjordjevic, we have nobody from that family we could say something positive about. I mean, nobody significant besides Aleksander, Paul, Peter I and Black George. King Peter I translated John Stuart Mill's "On Liberty"! He was a great man.
Monarchy is obsolete. We need higher class, patriotic like the one from 19th and start of 20th century. Capitalism, initiative, free market, trade, small industry grabing ahead, civil liberties (like 1888. constitution), patriotism!
Monarchy is not gurarantee for this.

The argument for having Royals is that they are able to rise above petty political concerns during a crisis and remind people to act like adults.
