More than 100 die in Nigeria fighting 2.38PM, Fri Apr 30 2004

Religious feuds have left more than 100 dead and over 1000 injured in Nigeria, reports say.

The fighting between Muslims and Christians in six remote villages took place on Tuesday but the scale of the violence has only just emerged.

"It must have been more than 100, but we cannot confirm a specific number of dead," a Nigerian Red Cross Society official said, adding that 5,500 people were displaced.

The latest attacks brings the death toll from the ethnic conflicts to at least 350 in a ten week period, according to unofficial figures.

Nigerian authorities rarely provide death tolls figures from this type fighting, for fear of provoking reprisal attacks.

A similar outbreak of fighting in Plateau state in 2001 killed at least 1,000 people.

Nigeria is the most populated nation in Africa, and the Christian/Muslim breakdown is about 50/50. That combo spells big trouble.

They also don't tell you the Muslims started it and did 99% of the killing. That is because had it been the Christians doing it, it would have been the headline. So I guess they do tell in a way.

You know, it just crystalized for me the difference between light and darkness. The Christians would not have thought of attacking. We've been taught, 'Turn the other cheek'. The Muslims have been taught 'Cut off the head'. Christianity, in a way, conquered Rome through sacrifice and love. That was God talking to us Humanity. Islam is about slaughter. Indiscriminant killing as long as Islam is advanced. Something evil this way comes. Christianity, even though it is rarely practiced in the post-modern age, is in the Western soul, just as Democracy is. Will Western principals survive?

Rome had weaknesses, such as having many religions, which the Muslims don't have. Rome's primary religion broke down when Rome suffered catastrophic reverses and breakdowns in the third century and pagans lost faith. Similar reverses will be needed to change Muslim's ways.

What reverses are possible? All these people have is their poverty, their rage and their hate-fueled ranting--get in line and walk this walk "religion".

Islam is a religion for empty, failed, enraged humans in that in it implementation it pulls the rest of the world down to their (its) level. A short form for this is: Evil.
