Disney corp. = cess pool.
Dittoes, I finally talked my wife out of going to Disneyworld this summer. I said pick anywhere else. So we're taking a cruise, lol.

I saw the promo too, it sent a cold shiver down my spine.

They're turning adoption into a reality show? Our society is swirling around the toilet bowl of history.
I loathe Barbara Walters.

Barbara Walters is only interested in ratings. It is a shame that a woman of her age does not have the common sense to draw the line on this. She is long overdue for retirement and this proves it.
I am positive that ABC will get backlash on this.

It seems like it is only days until we see competitive voluntary dismemberment.

Remember the good old days when "class" meant something? I pity everyone involved in this fiasco and abhor ABC for airing it.

My company used to offer Voluntary Death and Dismemberment Insurance.
I always thought they should call it something else.

DH and I saw the promo last night during Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We both were dumbfounded after seeing the promo. Just when you think the media can't sink any lower. The truly disturbing part was that it aired during one of the few nice shows on TV.

See, Jim Carrey thought that movie was satire. I wonder if he ever thought it would happen in real life?

If this is a hit, I wonder if CBS will create "Fetal Survivor?"

I'm sure these couples are so desperate for a child, they will subject themselves to anything. I'm sure these couples are desperate for a child. The problem is that they are thinking more about themselves than the welfare of this child that they say they want to parent. I am an adoptive mother. Yes, I wanted to be a mother more than anything. At no time, however, was I willing to put my own needs over the needs of the child. I guard my children's history fiercely...it is their story and I keep it PRIVATE. I would never go on television and turn the beginning of this child's life--a painful beginning--into a circus just because I wanted a child.
I agree with you that this is disgusting. I'm not willing to give these adoptive parents a pass, though.

The sickening part is the fact that they wouldn't have to be competing for the baby if so many women were not murdering their babies. Surely, they'll mention that somewhere in the program. The fact that they won't is sickening, too.

I saw that last night too. It came across as a reality show: "Who gets to keep the baby?"
I was sickened by it too.

BTW, Barbara Walters is an adoptive mother. Unbelievable!

O.K. Now, everyone's going to jump all over this, and rightfully so. But I ask you all to consider the fact that the reason that this kind of thing is going to get on the air is because ABC can make money on it, and can make more money off of something like this than off of the kinds of things that most of us would like to see on TV. When you have a transaction like this going on, the seller is not the only party to be condemned. The buyer is just as responsible.

I suspect 3 of the "couples" were same sex. Next the conception of the child will be turned into a gameshow.

20/20 is not a commercial enterprise? Saying a promo is not a commercial is like saying that because an apple is not an orange which is a fruit that an apple is not a fruit.
