I wouldn't trust the public disclosure list either. It is not the system; it is the people operating the system.
If you want vote integrity; get involved in the process (besides just voting). Otherwise, if there is a "Joseph Stalin" counting the ballots, it doesn't matter how you voted or what system you used.

If someone defrauded the public list anyone with an opposing voting receipt could force a review. Gotta be some techno-stuff in that receipt to make it ironclad. Like you say, ID before voting is critical, a Republican in every precinct would be a good prophylatic, and when I stop traveling so much that I no longer need absentee ballots I'd be happy to serve, which also means I appreciate your service, but I'd really like a receipt to know 1) that I was counted, and 2) the right way. Like when I deposit funds in my bank account - receipt means nothing if it is entered correctly - could mean a whole lot otherwise.
