Look, I;m NOT defending her, but you gotta admit..it's bery rare for media trypes to admit publicly that they were wrong..also, so say that W reminds her of Reagan...it's not a comment you'd expect of her.....my tyake, FWIW, while the entire media establishment is focused on Kerry winning, a few are starting to understand that this is a war of good against evil, and if the bad guys won, well, folks like Ms. Stahl wold not find themselves in a prety place...sometimes it's very hard to confront the truth

You are reading this incorrectly. She is saying that she didn't believe Saddam Hussein but she should have because there really are no weapons of mass destruction.

I understand what you are saying, and there may be some truth to it. I'm certainly very cynical -- I admit that. But a lot of this is perception, and I think professional communicators can appeal to both sides simultaneously (I don't say that as a compliment). An example:

Stahl says Bush reminds her of Reagan. A Conservative hears that and says, "Stahl is coming around. She sees that Bush is great President. He's clearly in the same league and Ronald the Great. Maybe there's hope for Leslie."

A Leftist hears the same quote and says, "Tell it Leslie! Bush is every bit as dumb as Reagan. Corrupt too. I remember Iran-Contra! I remember how out to lunch ol' Ronnie was! Yup! Stahl has Bushie pegged -- he's every bit as big a failure as Reagan!"

Leslie Stahl is no John Stossel.
