Michigan City Council OKs Muslim Prayer Over Loudspeaker

Hamtramck,Mich.--Over some residents' objections, the City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow a mosque to send out a call to prayer to Muslims on a loudspeaker....five times a day.

Well I guess the solution is to ring church bells simutaneously during the calls to "prayer" I mean hey if they can do it so can the Christians. Just make it a Christian call to prayer.

The next demand will be for all area merchants to cease operation during the calls to prayer. That's how it works in Islam. Whoa! Wait a minute. Seems to me there's a legal issue here. If they can stop Christians from saying GOD out loud and in the Pledge, or saying prayer out loud, then they should not be allowed to put their prayer over a loud speaker and to force it on others. I sure hope Christians in Michigan take a stand against this whole idiotic idea. If we keep being tolerant, Muslims will overtake Christianity.

And in our city the city council said we could not ring the church bell to announce Sunday morning services. They say someone in the neighborhood complained and the church decided to stop ringing it.

I've been trying to get our church to ring it again despite what the city says and the complaint.

i've spent time in Indonesia, and all the loud speakers start up at 3am with the Koran reading, then 5am for the call to prayer, and it continues all through the day until around 10pm. I think there may be something at 12am, but i don't remember.

There is still time to have the Mayor of Michigan City make a proclamation for the National Day of Prayer, May 6, and have a courthouse ceremony proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord over the city and county.

This year's theme is "Let Freedom Ring", which is taken from Leviticus 25:10. "...proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants."

Public prayer gatherings are scheduled for all the towns in our 5 county area plus courthouse ceremonies in 3 county seats. (5 next year)
