The St. Louis region's jobless rate dropped to its lowest mark in 17 months in March, yet another sign that job growth may be back on track after stumbling in February.

Between February and March, metro St. Louis added 14,000 jobs as better weather and new investment meant a return to work for thousands of Missouri construction workers, according to figures released Monday by the state Department of Economic Development.

How long before the trolls on FR try to claim that all of these jobs are low paying service jobs?

No wonder Gephardless dropped out of the race. It would really be hard to run president with your main plank being the terrible unemployment in your state and nation with this reality.

Watch the rats switch to the terrible inflation caused by GW. Everytime I walked by CNBC on my tv, (on for the stock market), one of their whining heads was whining about the terrible inflation period we are in.

That's what I was thinking too, Grampa: what are these "socialist conservatives" and openly unionist plants here on FR going to do now? Can they stomach the good news?

They will try Trolling with their usual canned trolling about these are just service jobs, and the economy is on the rocks.

I was in the Medford, Oregon area last month. Two of my friends up there said the economy had been hot since early last year.

One is in construction, and said that the construction boom is so big in Medford, anyone who knows which end of a hammer to use can start out with a great rate and benefits.

The other fellow is in the mortgage business for home buyers and those buying new business offices or plants. The last two years were good for him, and the first quarter of this year was a record for him and his bank. His wife had a boutique travel agency where she would book special trips and be the tour guide. After 9/11, she closed the business. She has reopened it due to former and new customers approaching her and asking her for new tours. She planned on three tours to the UK and Europe. She has sold out all spaces on all the tours.

Yet, all we hear about Oregon is the terrible economic depression they are in.

Very interesting. Thanks, Grampa.

Presidents are not responsible for the economy, but people think so. However erroneous that may be, I hope the good economic news keeps coming until Novermber.
