Jordan's King Abdullah revealed on Saturday that vehicles reportedly containing chemical weapons and poison gas that were part of a deadly al Qaeda bomb plot came from Syria, the country named by U.S. weapons inspector David Kay last year as a likely repository for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
"It was a major, major operation. It would have decapitated the government," King Abdullah told the San Francisco Chronicle. Jordanian officials estimated that the death count could have been as high as 20,000 - seven times greater than the Sept. 11 attacks.
Abdullah said that trucks containing 17.5 tons of explosives had come from Syria

What scares me the most is that the democrats have gone after Bush without any foresight. Our government is weak to react because of the politically charged 9-11 commission and all the hay made out of the war on terror.
As it stands, I will not hold anyone but the terrorist accountable for the terrorism that we have experienced. But if we are attacked again, I will blame democrats for making the war on terrorism a political issue. The democrats are making it impossible to be aggressive in the war on terror, and the terrorist know it.
Bin Ladin's last public statement sounded like John Kerry's campaign manager. He even used the democrats talking points.

That's exactly what I think. This is why there are none sitting around in Iraq--they were moved to a safe haven--Syria.

Nope, this simply cannot be true. Saddam didn't have any WMD's. I saw it on CNN.

John Kerry, April 15, 2004, NYC
" Everything he( President Bush ) did in Iraq he's going to try to persuade people has to do with terror even though everybody here knows it
had nothing whatsoever to do with al Qaeda and everything to do with an agenda that they had preset,"
The Marquis de Moron obviously does not understand the global war on terrorism.
Can he be that stupid ??
Or is it, that he could care less about America's future ?
Probably both.

The Whitehouse and intelligence community is supposed to have a preconceived war plan aimed and tailored for every country on the globe. I don't understand why people seem to think having a war plan on Iraq or Guernsey from day #1 in office is odd or wrong?
It's what we do as an effective and deterent nation.

I remember hearing somewhere that the chemical wasnt a "chemical weapon" but some industrial chemical that caused blindness and death from an asthma type attack. I think if this was nerve gas or something like that we would be hearing about it, for some reason other than that one report i havent heard a thing about what the chemical was.

Of course all of Saddam's WMD's were sent to Syria, where else could he hide them.

" The Whitehouse and intelligence community is supposed to have a preconceived war plan aimed and tailored for every country on the globe."
Exactly.
And if Saddam had launched and we did not have a war plan, you would hear the screeches and calls for impeachment, from every dark corner of the Democrat Party.
You just can't make these people happy.
They see everything solely in terms of how they can twist any news at all about the Bush administration ,into something dastardly and political.
I am still amazed that the Democrats expressed any solidarity at all with the United States, after 9/11.
I am sure on the morning of 9/11, their natural inclination was to blame the Bush administration for the events that day .
Someone in the DNC must have been doing yoeman's service on 9/11, manning the phones and putting out the word that the best political move would be to condemn Osama and not George Bush.
John Kerry never got the message.

I have yet to find one source that identifies the chemical. Has anyone seen an official statement on the chemical agent described?

So few people have any notion of what our military planners do. We probably have a contingency plan for Canada and Mexico.
That's why it's called planning.
It is not surprising that the civilians are ignorant, but for the press to be the idiots they are on the subject is inexcusable.
