Personally, I wouldn't expect much red paint on a US military UAV...

Target drones are routinely painted red.

Protoypes are painted "ten mile orange" for the same reason black boxes are orange - it makes the easier to recover when something goes wrong...

And are used quite frequently at Pensacola NAS, which is only 30 or 40 miles from Mobile Airport.

Pensacola drones are usually launched out over the gulf though, maybe one went astray and the Navy ain't fessin up?
