Islamic Terrorists Sent Electronic Circuitry to Algeria for Bomb Manufacture
The investigations opened into the March 11 attacks and the suicide of the members of the main nucleus of the killer cell continues to produce revealing data about their methods. One of the most recent clues obtained from police investigations has made it possible to determine that some of those now in jail spent their time in Spain extracting electronic circuitry from old home appliances (microwaves, freezers and washing machines, among others) to send them to Algeria. The purpose of this activity, according to sources consulted by ABC, was to be able to manufacture explosive devices in that country.
The terrorists used regular mail and alternative routes, outside of the law, for delivery, and it is now known that they had been engaged in this for about eight months.
Near the M-30 [a highway] Mosque.
The shop where they are believed to have worked on the appliances is located near the M-30 mosque, and was a cover for the actual activities of the establishment, which was officially dedicated to the repair of home appliances. Serhan Bin Abdelmajid Farket (The Tunisian), spiritual leader and coordinator of the cell, lived near this religious center. In addition, the video in which the terrorists claimed responsibility on behalf of Al Qaeda in Europe for the March 11 attacks was found in a trash basket near this mosque.
The investigators are following up leads on the illegal export of electronic circuitry in order to discover the international connections of the terrorist group

I thought the information about once again using commonly available items for terrorism might be of interest. Obviously, it's harder for terrorists to order parts the way they used to, so they've found an alternative means of supply, something that's so ordinary that it's below the radar.
Their oil will never run out. Their is a common misperception that oil fields can "run dry". The reality is that the cost of extracting oil goes up as oil is removed. At some point, it becomes uneconomical to continue to exploit the field.
But, if the market price goes up, continued production become feasible.
The Arabs have the advantage that the costs of extraction are very low in many of their oil fields. OPEC is used to keep the price artifically high, giving them enormous profits.
They are constantly playing a balancing game of pricing oil to maximize their own income, while keeping it just low enough to prevent the US from developing alternative technologies.
At some price point, the US giant coal reserves become feasible as feedstock for alternative liquid fuels. Same with our shale oil deposits. But, the enviroweenies are doing their best to preserve the Western world's dependence on arab oil.
If we managed to shut up the environmentalists for 10 or 20 years it is likely that the US could produce liquid fuels at a reasonable price. Imagine a world where the US held both military power and exportable oil.
