Here's a clue to the medical community.

Take out the stupid mercury out of the stupid vaccines.

It probably won't solve the problem of mass hysteria, but it will help.

It might even prevent a few kids from going autistic.

This woman is an ignorant narcissist who endangers everyones children. No immunization is perfect. In any immunized population there will be vulnerable individuals. The purpose is to reduce vectors. She is also a free-rider on those who immunize.

“I don't feel there's a need for them. And I’ve seen it can cause deaths too, so more safety, and my belief."

Riding in cars can cause deaths too. Does she avoid these?

Let these parents not vaccinate their children, but have them not get government funds to take care of them when they come down with the devastating effects of the diseases.

It's called "freedom of choice" for both the mother and the doctor.

But, yes, the question is: "Will her daughter thank her?"

My son is 11, and he has somehow avoided catching chicken pox even tho he's been exposed to classmates with it over the years. I recently got a letter stating that I had to provide proof that he's either had it or been vaccinated for it before he enters 6th grade in the fall. It's not like it's German measles or something ( which I had when my mom was pregnant with my brother back in '63 ) ... being a mother I hate the thought of him being stuck but I guess I'll do it. Not looking forward to it. Ugh.

Why should doctors open themselves to a lawsuit when one of these kids comes down with one of the diseases they told the parents to immunize their kids for.

“It comes from the feeling that the immunizations are so important to children that it's such a strong feeling of ours, that if we can't come to an agreement of that fact, we feel it's unlikely we'll be a match on many other things."

This attitude of pediatricians bothers me. They are admitting that they, who know all, should never be questioned about the health care of a child, or they will reject them as patients.

I been there and done that, already, although not of immunizations. But, the trendy notions of pediatricians over the years is laughable.

How many of you mothers remember the demands from them that the baby have nothing pass their lips other than milk until he/she is a full one year old? I started my baby on cereal and fruit at three months old because he was hungry. My pediatrician actually threatened me that since I was going against his advice, I should find a new doctor. I did.

The arrogance of physicians is amazing.

There is no conclusive proof that vaccinations do not cause such deseases as Autism. My nephew has Autism and it was discovered right aroung the same time that he received the MMR. Is there anyone here that can prove that if I give my soon to be born child this vaccine he/she will not develope autism. Are there any cases on record of a child getting autism that did not get the MMR vaccine.

Would love to hear inteligent feedback on this.

I'm in medicine (doc). You can't make a parent let you give a child a vaccination. It's THEIR child. There is nothing wrong with that. What you do is do your best at explaining the situation. I understand the fears of parents. Introducing a foreign vaccine into a child is a thoughtful thing. 100% of a population doesn't need vaccination. If you can get 70, even 60% you're doing good.

She's lucky the family docs agree to see her child. My biggest beef with most of these parents who refuse to get their kids vaccinated is that most do not ACTUALLY do the research on what the diseases are like that the docs are trying to prevent.

Not vaccinating is a religion - as indicated by her terminology. She "did her own research" - meaning, I presume, she checked out Internet websites. There are a lot more quack sites out there than there are legitimate sites, and the uneducated have difficulty discerning the difference.

The following sentences just jump off the page...

“I don't feel there's a need for them. And I’ve seen it can cause deaths too, so more safety, and my belief." But she soon discovered her belief shuts out pediatric care for Ambryia.

Arielle says, "It's hurtful because I’d rather not be judged on my belief and what I believe is best for my child."

Arielle feels fighting off infections will only make her baby stronger.

But this mom feels her beliefs, even if it means no pediatric care, are the safest for her child. “It's better than getting pressured into getting her shots, and not being judged going in there."
