Group threatens more Spanish terror

A group claiming responsibility for the Madrid bombings sent a fax to a newspaper this weekend warning it would turn Spain "into an inferno" unless the country halted its support for the United States and withdrew its troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The fax, a hand-written letter in Arabic, was received by the daily ABC on Saturday evening, just hours before five terror suspects blew themselves up in an apartment in Leganes, south of Madrid, to avoid police capture.

The letter was signed by Abu Dujana Al Afgani, Ansar Group, al-Qaida in Europe, the same person who claimed responsibility for the March 11 bombings in a video found outside a Madrid mosque two days after the attacks.

The letter gave a deadline of Sunday, April 4 for Spain to end support for the United States and withdraw troops from both countries.

"If these demands are not met, we will declare war on you and we swear by Ala the highest and most sublime that we will convert your country into an inferno and your blood will flow like rivers," the letter added.

This is what appeasement brings to a country.

The term which should be used to apply to the Spanish dilemna is cognitive dissonance. In fact, it applies to the entire European Continent and the left in the United States. It is when one has trouble accepting new data which contradicts one's previously held beliefs. This is in play in the 911 Commission. It was best described by President Reagan when he told us not to be afraid to believe what we see! There is a huge amount of politicking and spinning going on but the truth is that everyone is criticizing both Presidents Clinton and Bush for not taking preemptive action against the Taliban and Osama. Yet, the left is ferocious about President Bush taking preemptive action against Iraq. If Bush had not, could you imagine the "Iraq Commission" report after an attack! We need to believe what we see; Islamic militants planning and plotting to destroy us and take the necessary action, regardless of the cognitive dissonance of the left against terrorists and terrorist threats.

When was the last time a Western nation threatened to turn an Islamic nation into an Inferno? Didn't Ann Coulter get a lot of flak just for saying we ought to convert these savages to a less hate-filled, violent religion? That was Hate Speech, I believe?

But the whole "rivers of blood" thing, that's OK?

But!!!! Spain surrendered. Why are the terrorists still being mean? They promised they wouldn't be mean if Spain voted for the Socialists.

[Oh, you mean appeasement doesn't work???? Shock and surprise.]

Hello, Spain? Looks like they aren't even going to bother to "kill you last".
