American Muslim Group Condemns 'Mutilations,' Not Murders

(CNSNews.com) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which describes itself as a Muslim civil rights group, issued a press release on Wednesday, condemning "the mutilation of those killed in Iraq on Wednesday."

However, the press release did not condemn the murders of the four American civilian contractors, who -- as CAIR put it -- "were ambushed in their SUV's, burned, mutilated, dragged through the streets and then hung from a bridge spanning the Euphrates River, according to news reports."

CAIR said the mutilations of the bodies "violated both Islamic and international norms of conduct during times of war and [CAIR] called on all parties to the conflict to respect the sanctity of the dead and the sensitivities of their families."

The Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy group cited a tradition of the Prophet Muhammad that prohibits mutilating bodies (Hadith 654.3).

In another tradition, CAIR added, "the Prophet...said, "Do not kill women or children, or an aged, infirm person. Do not cut down fruit-bearing trees. Do not destroy an inhabited place." (Al-Muwatta, Vol. 21, Hadith 9)

That's how the press release ended.

CAIR, which describes itself as America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, is based in Washington, D.C. It has been criticized by some Americans for its ties to Muslim extremists.

NOT condemning the slaughter, just the mutilation.

"In another tradition, CAIR added, "the Prophet...said, "Do not kill women or children..."

But killing these men is just fine for CAIR.

just sent this to CAIR

Dear Sirs,

according to this report ( American Muslim Group Condemns 'Mutilations,' Not Murders ), your organisation has condemned the disgracful actions of some of the citizens of Fallujah, Iraq.

While I applaud your courage in speaking out about this, I am also disturbed that you did not see fit to condemn the killings themselves.

Please take a moment and consider what your reaction would have been if, after being attacked on September 11th, irrate New Yorkers had ambushed Saudi civilian contractors in thier SUV's, burned, mutilated, and dragged thier bodies through the streets before hanging them from a bridge spanning the East River.

Sincerly,

e-mail: cair@cair-net.org

No, that's their job. We have to play by Marquise de Queensbury Rules, don'tcha know. You're thinking about this all wrong.

On the plus side, I find these events to demonstrate that al Qeada is "fighting the last war". Somalia was the first big, successful al Qeada operation. After they killed and mutilated those Army Rangers, the US beat feet, 'cause Bubba couln't take the heat. The Islamabombers expect the same thing to happen this time.

The Islamabombers are wrong.

This time we are going to come down on the like the Wrath of ... well, you know who. It's going to be a hot time in Fallujah tonight!

Forget writing to CAIR. That just gets you on their "hate list". They're a radical group that was started by Hamas.
I think Cybercast News deserves mail for dancing around what CAIR REALLY IS.

I condemn CAIR in its entirety. It's a front for the support of terroism. It's time they were asked to leave the country and not return.

Yesterday was a dark day for those fighting in Iraq. 5 Marines dead, and four civilian workers killed, mutilated, and publicly desecrated in the Iraqi city of Falluja in the "Sunni Triangle."

The pictures of that horrid incident are revolting, and most news outlets have refused to print or air them.

One exception is the San Diego Union Tribune, which graced this morning's front page with them--above the fold. This sparked an angry debate on the Rick Roberts show on KFMB this morning.

Rick's position, as well as most of his callers, condemned the UT's display of those images. As conservatives, they felt that the reason for using them was to gin up feelings against the war in Iraq. They are no doubt correct. But I differed in my feelings about those pics and decided to shoot Rick an e-mail during his show explaining why I felt as I do. To my suprise, he read my email, verbatim, during the next segment. After doing so, he said that I had given him a completely different perspective on the matter, and that he might have to rethink his position on the matter. Below is the e-mail I sent him:

Dear Mr. Roberts,

I'm afraid I have to disagree about the pics. I know the UT put them there to turn opinion against the war, but it is my hope and my belief that it will do the opposite. I have a daughter serving in Iraq right now. And everytime I hear of a bomb going off over there my blood pressure goes up till I find out she is still safe.

After 9/11 the press in this country did its level best to make us forget what happened. They censored the images because they were afraid we couldn't handle it. They were afraid we'd have the proper reaction. They were afraid we'd demand a war on terrorism. On the first anniversary of 9/11 they swept it even further under the rug. They didn't want us lashing out against the Muslims. They helped spread the lie that Islam is a religion of peace, when in fact it is a death cult (I've read the Koran several times and am well versed in middle-eastern history).

Those images on the pages of the UT are important. People here need to see them and get angry. They also need to see the film footage--shown repeatedly around the world, but suppresed here--of the poor victims jumping out of the twin towers and bouncing off the roofs and streets below (not just the occasional still). People are well on their way to forgetting why were at war and what the stakes are.

The UT photos should stir up some righteous fury. I believe it will be in favor of prosecuting this war with greater vigor, even though the UT hopes it will go the other way.

Sincerely,
[psyop]

Actually the big outcry is over the dancing in the streets. Dancing is forbidden under radical Islam.

Iraqis dance near a burning car in Fallujah where four civilian contractors, three of whom were confirmed by the coalition to be American, were shot dead.(AFP/Karim Sahib)

CAIR could also be asked about the muslims taking delight in the death of Americans. We (wrongly) heard muslim spin organizations claim that the footage of muslims celebrating the 9.11.2001 attacks was "old footage" being aired to make muslims look bad.

CAIR said the mutilations of the bodies "violated both Islamic and international norms of conduct

There goes CAIRo again spinning their G rated version of Islam for the benefit of clueless Americans.

I recall a number of news clips showing moslems dipping their hands in the blood of their victims or their so-called martyrs. As islam goes, corpse mutilation and necrophelia are the least of their problems.

CAIR said the mutilations of the bodies "violated both Islamic and international norms of conduct..."

Decent of them to point out that those are two separate, and decidedly not equal, things.

My favourite CAIR stunt was when, after 9/11, they put a link on their website: "Donate to help victims of terrorism" with a picture of the two towers. Now isn't that cute, Muslims raising money to show their solidarity with terrorist victims... I'm sure a lot of people donated.

Only trouble is, the donations went to the Holy Land Foundation, a Hamas front group that used the money to finance suicide bombings in Israel (Holy Land has since been shut down).

That's right -- collect money for terrorist victims, give it to terrorists. CAIR in a nutshell.
