I'm not going to hold my breath. (Maybe we could get Archbishop Burke elected Pope? *Grins*)
Archbishop Burke was our Bishop in this diocease. He took a lot of flack from a lot of people (Including Catholics that I know) for telling many local politicians that they need to follow church doctrine if they expect to receive the sacraments.
Many blasted the church for its "unforgiving attitude" when they completely misunderstood the intent.
The church is looking for the salvation of the soul, more so than pleasing groups of voters. I don't understand why many don't get this?
