A Brooklyn man has been arrested by federal agents on charges of illegally shipping missile components, radar equipment and F-4 fighter parts through a company in Israel for later transfer to buyers in the Middle East.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesman Dean Boyd yesterday said Leib Kohn, 70, was arrested Friday on charges of violating the Arms Export Control Act and the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations. He was named last week in a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, Conn.

During the 1970s a network of "pariah states" who had difficulty getting arms from the usual suspects emerged. The pariahs of that generation being the white regimes in southern Africa, plus Israel and Taiwan. The usual arms merchants -- the US, USSR, France and China -- rejected the pariah states' business for political reasons.
One outcome of this was the development of a strong indigenous arms indstry in each of the "pariahs." Another was a brisk trade among them in indigenous and imported (blockade-run) weapons parts. Since then, the membership in the pariah club has changed but the mechanism is the same.
Anyway, X, that's what I think's happening here. This guy obviously had official Israeli connivance to get this far with his project. Then somebody dimed him out....
