I talked to Kranish today and sent him some info. He claimed to not have known about the assassination debate and seemed intrigued. Let's see what he does with it.

Kerry assisted the Vietcong, North Vietnamese Communists and the Communist Chinese take over South Vietnam. Kerry assisted in placing millions under Communism and into education camps. I imagine the South Koreans are thankful that Kerry was born later or they would be eating bark off trees and suffering under Kim Jong-il.

I agree. Kerry's analysis of what would happen after the US withdrew, was totally off base. This cut and run strategyu never works. We did it in Somalia as well. Kerry now wants us to do the same thing in Iraq.

WOW!

The Globe JUST NOW uncovered this story about their own Senator?

Things that make you say, "Hmmm..."

They probably figured (or learned) that some other paper was going to do the story, and that as the MA paper with the definitive bio on Kerry, they would look complicit or inept for not reporting it first. They could also soften it, allow the Kerry campaign to respond, and release it to be lost during the latest anti-Bush media offensive. The only thing missing was not releasing it on a Saturday, but Friday is next best.

You're probably right. But the Boston Globe, and especially Kranich, have done a better than average job on Kerry so far.

Thanks for taking the time to make those links work during the FR's DNS troubles. That was very kind of you.

I listened to C-SPAN this morning with Brian Lamb. Richard Cohen was the guest. A caller asked if there was more specific info on Kerry's purple hearts, i.e., the circumstances, the severity of the wounds, time in hospitial, etc. Cohen said he didn't know specifically, but Lamb interjected with a touch of annoyance, that all the details are in the Brinkley book. Cohen chimed in and agreed saying he read the book and most of the info about Kerry's war service was in the first chapter. Its too bad that this poorly-researched puff piece by Brinkley is cited as the authoritative source of bio info on Kerry.

We really need to get full disclosure of Kerry's service records and greater scrutiny of his antiwar activities and associations, e.g., VVAW, Jane Fonda, Ramsey Clark, etc. I am doing an analysis of his Financial Disclosure forms from 1995-2003. Some interesting stuff concerning investments in foreign firms and ownership of US stocks like Enron. Also Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clint Eastwood gave the Heinz-Kerrys wedding presents.

Of course that was exactly why it was written in the first place.

Kerry killed a Viet Cong fighter in an action his superiors deemed appropriate and for which he was awarded the Silver Star.

...Which, conveniently, no one witnessed but Kerry. The guy'd evidently been hit by a .50, and so was no longer likely a threat. I strongly suspect that Kerry murdered him. Let him deny it. How did the enemy resist?

"Kerry maintains he was a reservist for years after his discharge from active duty.

"If so, then meeting with and comforting the enemy is a treasonous action."
__________________________________________________________________

And there is no statute of limitations on treason. Also, military status is not a necessary element of the crime of treason. Fonda was and is just as guilty of it as Kerry. But the problem the Bush administration has is essentially the same one Nixon had, namely, that such a trial would become a media circus that could backfire and compromise re-election prospects.

...and hundreds of thousands in their graves. For a guy who protested against "atrocities" so ardently, he sure was good at promoting them.

The only reason I can think of for this statement to have been included here is to say, See! Kerry doesn't REALLY like the Viet Cong. He killed one of them.

You are so right. Did you see the article that accuses Kerry of working with EU nations to raise tariffs on American goods coming from 2004 election battleground states? Claim: Kerry Promoting Increased Foreign Tariffs to Alter Presidential Election

If true, it is despicable!
