I contacted them yesterday but have not had a response in return. I don't expect one either.

From today's testimony and the questions asked, it sounds like they are trying to fix blame on the Bush administration.

I'm not interested in placing blame as much as I'm interested in government finding a way to work together and give the necessary tools to the CIA and FBI etc., in order to do their job right.

I filed a complaint with the lady ... they take your name & number but presumably that's just to keep track of multiple calls from the same callers.

That would seem to be the original idea. Unfortunately, it has morphed into a show trail.

The genesis of jihadism began in Iran in 1979 when a weak US President named Jimmy Carter allowed the jihadists to hold America hostage for over a year.

This commisssion is fixated on 8 months in 2001 and one President George W Bush.

An honest look would be examining the Church Commisssion, the hostages in Iran, a tepid response to Lebanon and airline hijackings and bobings, 8 years of a Clinton administration that allowed jihadism to flourish and a Congress that stood by and let it all happen for 25 years.

Why does Dickhead Clarke get more time than George Tenet, James Woolsey, Louis Freeh, et al?

Inquiring minds want to know.

My suggestion is that they stop using Clarkes book simply because it doesnt look very nonpartisan of them to quote from it. and that they get rid of the Clarke testimony because he is so clearly self promoting, not to mention unable to explain past comments when compared to his book.

Good suggestion.

We should go back to swearing on the Bible rather than Clarkes book.

Here is my contribution:
_____________________________________________________________

Honorable Sirs:

After watching and listening to the hearings for the last two days, it occurred to me that the Commission is not concerned with identifying and fixing the problems that led to this catastrophic terrorist attack, but instead are concerned more about furthering party goals and advancing Presidential candidates.

I guess a secondary goal is to protect former Presidents from having their legacy smeared. How pitiful.

Has it occurred to anyone that partisan bickering divides the United States in the face of a determined enemy and allows further attacks to be perpetuated? I can only speak for myself, but I am tired of partisanship and bitter hatred of the opposing party being the main course of government, while us regular citizens have to suffer from the indecisiveness it breeds, as well as the other problems not being addressed because of bitterly divided government and gridlock.

Call me naive, but I was under the impression you folks were supposed to serve the people, and public service was the highest calling a person could seek. I was told you have to compromise sometimes. I was also told sometimes you are dead wrong and have to eat crow. I guess the philosophy I learned and have carried in 24 years of public service is dead wrong, after watching this spectacle of government inefficency and political partisan bickering gone mad.

Just a suggestion:

Please understand that we Americans are not stupid, naive, or in need of guidance because we cannot make up our minds ourselves. Instead, operate under the assumption that we are just as capable as you folks are in the Beltway.

Also understand the fact that we Americans are sick of name calling and blaming. If we wanted that, we could turn off the television and watch our pre-school children interact. We expect results from leaders, not name calling from children.

Finally, understand that since this hearing is in the process of gathering information on what led to the tragedy of September 11, 2001, we expect answers that include a solution and course of action, not finger pointing with empty follow through.

respectfully yours
