I used to try to reason with those on the other side of reality, but it is totally frustrating to try to reason with those afflicted with LS (Leftist/Liberal Syndrome).

Thank you, thank you, thank you Jim Robinson for Free Republic. I’m a very soon to be Navy veteran who has “trolled” this site since 1999. I was on a Mediterranean deployment onboard the USS Bataan (maiden voyage) when I first stumbled upon Free Republic and have been hopelessly hooked ever since.

It took everything I had to not become a more active member because ‘I wore the uniform’ and felt I had a commitment to maintain a non-partisan public stance. Those days will be over on the 30th of June and I will be free once again after 25 years to voice my opinion in its entirety thanks to your forum.

Over the years I have come to know you all as family; sharing your joy, despair, anxiety, and angst. You have been a friend to me though I lurked in the shadows. You have given me solace in times of dread. You have given me hope when I thought all was lost.

I just can’t think of a better place to spend my time than among you all.

I feel pretty ignorant for not having read this before I started commenting on the site... I feel enlightened to have read it.

I, like many other Americans, feel a sense of urgency for our country’s well being and that’s what you seem to be talking about here. I am very appreciative of the resource you are providing.

I started my website with much of the same intentions, but with little direction and have found myself quite happy to correspond with people of like-mind here (for the most part).

My hope is not in the government or in human nature, but in God or I would look at the current state of affairs and throw in the towel...

You and your site will hopefully encourage a lot of other people who love this nation to take hope.

I, for one, plan to help spread that hope.

True, there is no requirement to "pay to be here", but those that can, do, in order to keep this message alive. The site owner doesn't have to accept you being here on your own mission to attempt to tear down that message with your Obama kool aid BS. It doesn't have to accept anybody being here in case you didn't have a clue how private blog type sites work.

Well some of us ARE paying - not just to "be here" but to support a crucial mission maintaining a core strength of conservativism, bringing together resources and a heck of a lot of talent and brain power with proven results. A place to focus dissent against Marxist oppression and bring opposition to the Marxist Juggernaut threatening our culture, way of life, values and beliefs in the very foundational things that made this nation great.

I thank God for your bias! I am so thankful that FR is not and never will be “fair and balanced”. This has been a haven and refuge for me in the past ten years.
