Paul Allen gives $13.5 million to search for space aliens
SEATTLE - Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is giving $13.5 million to research that includes looking for intelligent life in outer space. The contribution announced yesterday brings his total donations to the project to $25 million.
It is going for construction of the Allen Telescope Array at a lava bed about 25 miles north of Lassen Peak in northern California.
Besides the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, the radio astronomy project is directed at examining quasars, cosmic explosions and the birth of stars for clues to the origin of the universe.
Radio astronomy involves scrutiny of radio frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum rather than the visual light portion.
Project organizers hope to build 350 small radio-frequency dishes linked by computer over the next decade.

Microsoft must be running out of customers here on Earth to sell Windows to. Time to take Windows and the XBox to other galaxies and beyond.

He should direct his research funding at the libs and DNC in telling the truth. Wouldn't you want to spend your money on a project with some chance of success?

Well, every buck Allen spends here is a buck his investment operations isn't funneling to SCO to fund their anti-Linux lawsuits,

All that money and you'd think he would get his teeth fixed:
Paul Allen's fascination with technology extends to space; he's helping to fund a telescope that will look for aliens. AP
