Alert issued for Mexican candy bar containing high levels of lead
(Undated-AP) -- The California Department of Health has issued an alert about a Mexican candy bar that officials say contains toxic levels of lead.
The candy -- Chaca Chaca -- is made of apple pulp and chili powder, and comes wrapped in red and white cellophane picturing a train.
State epidemiologist Gilberto Chavez says the candy poses a risk to anyone who eats it, particularly young children and pregnant women.
He says tests by the state show the candy contains three to four times the recommended daily level of lead.
Federal officials say they're also planning an alert about the candy.
Lead poisoning can cause learning disabilities and behavioral disorders.

In case of a nuclear accident you could smear yourself with it.

He says tests by the state show the candy contains three to four times the recommended daily level of lead. I'm checking my One-A-Days right now to be certain that they contain the recommended Daily Levels of Lead.

Latin America has its own version of 'Tort Reform'. Some slob kills a family member, forget about suing.
Say what you want about American lawyers but if we want to change things we need to do it with our eyes wide open.
