Fifteen Year-Old Girl Dies After RU 486 Abortion in Detroit, Michigan

Detroit, MI (LifeNews.com) -- Fifteen year-old Tamia Russell of Detroit died as a result of a second-trimester abortion earlier this year. It is suspected that the abortion drug RU-486 caused the fatal infection that claimed her life.

Steven Brown of the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office told LifeNews.com that the cause of death for Russell was listed as, "Uterine infarction with sepsis, due to status post second trimester abortion."

Dr. Leigh Hlavaty, the medical examiner, listed the manner of death as "normal," as opposed to homicidal, suicidal, or accidental, due to the natural cause of death, the obstruction of her uterine blood vessels and the infection.

The uterine infection is identical to that which caused the death of Holly Patterson, a 19-year-old California teen who died after taking Mifepristone, also known as RU-486, she was given by Planned Parenthood in September.

According to WJBK Fox News in Detroit, Russell’s relatives say, on January 7, she confessed to being pregnant with her 24-year-old boyfriend's child, and that his sister had driven her to the WomanCare of Southfield facility to obtain an abortion.

At that time, she was already part-way though the procedure, which leads Katharine Lorenz of Right to Life of Michigan to believe it was a chemical, not a surgical, abortion....

Since RU-486 is only for early abortions, I consider dying from using it in the second trimester to be Evolution In Action.

You mean it wasn't an accidental firearm discharge? Well, then nothing to see here.

Since she was a mere child, no doubt inadequately informed, and definitely inappropriately "treated," I think it is more gross malpractice by the abortion industry combined with parental negligence.

If she was old enough to get pregnant and foolish enough not to find out the facts, then it was definitely Evolution In Action

There is a fatality every time this drug is used.

Show me a 15 year old who isn't foolish. :p Besides, wild horses couldn't drag the facts out of the abortion industry.

I'm wondering. . . In the second trimester D&E abortions are often performed, and a day or so before those typically a dilator is placed in the cervix to open it. Perhaps she had a D&E and that is why it could have been considered already begun?

I may be wrong, but I don't think RU-486 is capable of inducing an abortion that late in pregnancy.

So - she was 15, the boyfriend 24. Did the clinic notify the police so that he could be charged with statutory rape? </sarcasm off>

I was wondering the same thing.

Why didn't the cops arrest the man for raping the 15-yr old.

However, the pro-abortion rights groups will sleep well tonight, no doubt taking comfort in the knoweledge that she was allowed to exercise the very *rights* for which they so zealously battled.

Way back prior to Roe vs. Wade legal abortions (various states) were done as inpatients in hospitals. The abortionists were required to be trained and they were to be done early.

The evidence supporting "safe" abortions was developed by records of abortions done in the State of New York.

after Roe vs. Wade all the safety requirements that were encouraged and required in New York were made illegal and unenforceable by Roe.

In like manner all the safety requirements that were developed by the original manufactures of RU 486 that were used to show its effectiveness and safety for approval by the FDA were promptly ignored by the abortion industry as soon as they got it into the USA.

A crafty lot of dishonest killers are they. And they continue on.
