This thread's hilarious. We have more people on here speculating about Freepers turning on Gibson than we have examples of it happening. It makes the vitriolic statements somewhat comic. "He was their good pal hours ago! Now, they're dropping him like a bad habit." Examples?

Lots of us, predisposed to vote for W, are concerned with what seems to be his cognitive dissonance:

• Islam is peace (it's clearly NOT)
• Open Borders are good (but we need greater permission to wiretap the internet, to watch those pesky american citizens)
• Illegal immigration shouldn't be treated as a crime (invasion is aok?) Send jobs overseas, by refusing to tax labor or goods imported from other countries who are not playing on a level field, like India, China and others... and taxing the beejessus out of American Business and employees, via regulations and restrictions that occupy the carreers of tens of thousands of tax law and business regulation lawyers.
• expanding the department of education, (supposedly to placate democrats, but increasingly apparent that HE did not support the republican revolution to downsize government at all; terminate the fcc, HHS, and education departments, ala newt and the pubbie revolution)
• Expansion of social medical welfare (via the previously unpalatable to republicans "prescriptions for seniors")
• No bill is large enough to veto.

Lots of us will still vote for bush. I know I will... but I gotta say that those things, plus others like the flirtation with signing an AWB ban, which bush has said he will... really is valid grounds for QUESTIONING bush AND his ability to win. His core support groups are all concerned... and that includes most of conservative talk radio.

A vote for kerry is a vote for osami. And I would not put it past democrat "liberal socialists" to even assist al queada in bombing us, just to try and swing the election their way. I suspect that is what socialists did in Spain... how else would they have had all their protest signs made up, and in the streets just hours after the bombings took place.. unless they were planning on the tragedy to begin with.

Kerry supporters might help the terrorists if they believe they can sway this election.

So MY vote for bush is safe. I would feel better if he changed is tack a little however. And mel questioning Bush is something that any of Bush' supporters ought to do, on issues they have concerns about.

It won't work. Do you seriously think the left will take one tepid WMD comment made to a conservative host on Fox News and from that drop their rabid objections to The Passion? I think between that movie, The Patriot, Braveheart, We Were Soldiers and maybe even Signs, the Left will never have any use for Mel Gibson. Well, maybe for his numbers at the box office.

We all have "Questions" about President Bush and his Administration, but when compared to the record of John Kerry, there is only one choice for conservatives of any stripe.

Yes, you explain that "idea," and then give me ten minutes with Mel, after you have finished, to remind him what a cruel deception "democracy" is in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic lands, without a dominant middle-class. What you suggest is not a sound way to fight terror. It is precisely the opposite; a red flag to those who feel they will be the victims in such "democracies," to join with those who are already in the field against us.

What you suggest is the absolute antithesis of what we need to be doing to round up the internationalist thugs who are already in the field against us.
