NO SPITTING ON OUR TROOPS!!!!!

Folks, by now you have heard about the March 20th anti-American protests planned by far-left groups such as A.N.S.W.E.R. and United For Peace And Justice.

Visit their websites to see if anything is being planned IN YOUR BACKYARD!!

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: answer; antiwar; communists; patriotism
We must stand up to these social malcontents as they attempt to spit on our brave troops who serve and protect. It doesn't matter if it's just you and a sign of support for America, we must stand up to these people. We speak for the silent majority here in America who support our president, our country, and our troops. Alert your local news media that patriots will be out that day in a show of support for America and the battle vs terrorism!

Any FREEPERS have events planned? I saw that DC cancelled since ANSWER cancelled. Anyone going to NYC? Any local events planned?

Ironic...how back when some of the demonstrators spit on returning Vietnam veterans...

and how some conservatives called them losers...

It was the "teamsters" ...the hard hats...who were the counter protestors...and literally
took the fight to the demonstrators...

Hold the politicians feet to the fire...on the VA Medical system....dont let the combat wounded and disabled be forgotten...or shuffled around and hidden...as though they are unwanted..like they have been in the past....

Nothing slated for the Orlando area, thank God. I just e-mailed them telling them how much they make me want to puke.

beautiful!

"maybe it isn't necessary. Maybe only 100 lefties will show up. But do you all want those 100 lefties to have the undivided attention of the local news crews?"

That is exactly why we have to get out and show an alternative viewpoint...Otherwise the media will spin...

I think maybe you are painting with too broad a brush. If people are peacefully protesting(and I know that's not always the case), then it's not really fair to say they are spitting on the troops, even if you're not using that phrase in a literal sense. If they are going to call the troops baby killers and other vile stuff like that then I might agree with that phrase.

Maybe you should go to a protest to hear just how they do talk to our troops. I can unfortunately report that my youngest son was spit on outside of Fort Richardson a few weeks before he left for Afghanistan. This was during a protest at the gates of the base.
I can also tell you that I have a very public email address that is related to troop support. I have been called the Mother of a baby killer. I have been told "I hope your son dies a slow painful death and burns in hell". I have been told that I should go to hell for raising a killer. I could go on and on but I assure you that they detest our military. They show a facade of military support by using some families who are grieving. I think that the phrase "Spitting On Our Troops" hits the nail right on the head.

Well I am VERY, VERY sorry that this happened to you ma'am. I myself opposed this war but I would NEVER disrespect the troops who are fighting in it. The war was not their choice, and I respect any person who is willing to lay down their live in defense of this nation. The people who said those things about you and your son are despicable.

I will probably take you up on your advice and check out a protest. Thanks for responding to my post. I hope I didn't mean to offend you in any way by questioning the original poster, because that was certainly not my intention.

Amazing how people like this idiot will defend the spitters, eh?

Notice how he defends them, despite what you've already endured?

These protesters truly wish to turn this into another Vietnam, to have our brave troops return to America disgraced and defeated. Ain't gonna happen on our watch!!

CBS Skips Hard-Left Agenda of Anti-War
Protest It Publicizes

A small anti-war protest march by barely 200 people across the street from the White House generated a full CBS Evening News story on Monday night in which reporter Bob Orr ignored the far-left political agenda of the participants as he emphasized how they were just typical relatives of those in the military: “These protesters -- mothers, fathers, husbands and wives -- read the roll of America’s dead, placing the names of their loved ones in a makeshift coffin.” Orr featured an interview with one father in which Orr stressed how he was pro-war at one time: “You weren’t against the war at the outset?” Father: “No, not at all.” And Orr painted them all as potential victims of the right-wing thought police: “Now, at the risk of having their own patriotism questioned, families say they’re mounting a critical home front mission.”

Skipped over by Orr, the political agenda of the leftist groups which organized the protest. The home page of a group called “Military Families Speak Out,” a representative of which Orr quoted, features a politically-loaded screed, in the form of a letter to President Bush, from a mother whose son was killed in Iraq:
“You inherited peace and prosperity and created murder, mayhem, and massive debt....While we who have lost our loved ones have only tears to fill the empty space where love and laughter lived, you and your Halliburton cronies have found the oil wells and will undoubtedly keep your blood stained gains.”

Rather set up the March 15 story, as taken down by MRC analyst Brad Wilmouth: “Families of some of the American casualties of the war reached out to President Bush today, asking him to bring U.S. troops home. CBS’s Bob Orr reports the families marched from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where severely-wounded soldiers are treated, to the White House.”

Orr began: “They marched silently in a somber procession carrying black wreathes to commemorate those lost in a war they no longer support. Outside the White House, these protesters -- mothers, fathers, husbands and wives -- read the roll of America’s dead, placing the names of their loved ones in a makeshift coffin. One of the names belonged to Lila Lipscomb’s son, Michael Pedersen, killed last April when his helicopter went down in a firefight....While military families rarely speak out, these protesters accuse the President of trying to sanitize the war by declining to attend a single military funeral and by preventing the public from doing flag-draped coffins as they are returned to the US. Parents of some of the 3000 plus wounded have also had enough. Pat and Jerome Gunn’s son, Jason, survived a roadside bomb last November. While he’s still recovering from shrapnel wounds, Jason’s now been ordered back to Iraq. You weren’t against the war at the outset?”
Jerome Gunn, father of U.S. Soldier: “No, not at all.”
Orr to Gunn: “In fact, you called yourself a hawk.”
Gunn: “Basically, yeah.”
Orr: “But how do you feel now?”
Gunn: “I feel we’re being misdirected. I feel that they took a noble cause and subverted it.”
Orr: “Now, at the risk of having their own patriotism questioned, families say they’re mounting a critical home front mission.”
Charlie Richardson, Military Families Speak Out: “We believe that the most supportive thing you can do when a war is being fought that shouldn’t be fought is speak out and try to end that war and get the troops home.”
Orr concluded, over video of a podium with a sign which declared, “Mourn the Dead. End the War”: “To bring an end to a roll call which they say is already far too long. Bob Orr, CBS News, Washington.”

The home page for Military Families Speak Out features an angry, politically-charged from the left, letter to Bush from Rosemarie Dietz Slavenas. An excerpt:

....You inherited peace and prosperity and created murder, mayhem, and massive debt. According to the ongoing investigation of the helicopter crash that took Brian's and 15 other American lives, the Illinois National Guard aircraft were sent into the field without basic survivability equipment, to accommodate your "shoot and bomb first, think and investigate later" brand of foreign policy. We don't need a trigger happy President.

Finders keepers, losers weepers. While we who have lost our loved ones have only tears to fill the empty space where love and laughter lived, you and your Halliburton cronies have found the oil wells and will undoubtedly keep your blood stained gains. Our sorrow, your gain. Brian was conscientious; someone wasn't. Brian was faithful; someone wasn't. Brian was thoughtful; someone wasn't. Brian was considerate; someone wasn't. Brian was truthful; someone isn't. Brian wasn't sloppy. Someone is.

END of Excerpt
