It tells me that the animal who murdered Carlie doesnt have much of a future in prison.

Like to see what they're going to build for Matthew Flores.

A little insight into how the prison population is going to feel about the presence of Carlie's killer.

This is a beautiful gesture. Perhaps part of Carlie's legacy will be in helping some of these convicts turn their lives around.

What a beautiful tribute for a young girl. These guys have brought tears to my eyes.

Maybe the prisoners just want to get out for some fresh air. I remain skeptical of their motives.

I remember when the prisoners at Angola, Louisiana raised something like $11,000 amongst themselves for the families of the firemen and police killed in 9/11.

Re your post #17 - That, too, was something I considered. But, these inmates were building greenhouses -- and already outside. And, their original offer was to dedicate a plaque, there, to Carlie -- however, as the sheriff in the article explains, dedicating "prison property" to Carlie did not seem appropriate. The officials, it seems, changed the idea from the prison outdoors grounds to the school location, as the school is a more appropriate location for a memorial for Carlie.

"A couple of the guys were talking about it," he said. "We have been working a lot of weekends on this new building and we thought it'd be a good idea to ask the family if we could build this new building in her name."
Sheriff's officials decided naming prison property after Carlie wasn't suitable.
