Barry Farber, a North Carolinian, Jewish, conservative, witty and wise, managed to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill without being infected by the notorious ultra-liberalism of that campus. Among the many, many positive things about this man, one can also say that he is a gentleman of the old school, rare and valuable these days.

I am fortunate to have escaped with two degrees from UNC without losing my conservative values. The attempts at brainwashing never cease. There was a pocket of us in grad school that kept close together against the liberal onslaught, assisted by our Trusts and Estates professor, Paul Haskell, who sheltered us as best he could.
