FREEP this online poll on VA tax increases

Poll asks: Should tax increases be put to voters in a referendum, or should the decision be left to legislators?
Conservatives want to have a referendum but the liberals want to raise taxes so badly, they want the legislators to go around the will of the people.
Right now, the liberal tax hikers are winning.
Poll allows you to vote 1 time per hour per IP address.

According to the poll (at 4:00 PM Eastern) it was 2-1 to let the legislators hike our taxes.
Governors Warners budget proposal for 2002-2004 is $26,038,303,164.
The budget for 2000-2002 was $23,483,212,825.
This appears to me to be an increase of $2,555,090,339 ($ 2.5 BILLION), and yet I heard him say that he had slashed the budget by $6 Billion, and there was no more to cut!
I sent this Email to the Foundation for Virginia (
http://www.foundationforvirginia.org ), an organization composed of our State representatives that is spending big bucks trying to convince us that a tax hike is vitally necessary for our safety and well being.
I just saw a commercial on TV claiming that the Virginia budget has been cut by $ Billions. You claim that any further cuts must come only from education, public safety or health care.

Either your organization or Governor Warner himself think that Virginians are completely ignorant, or you (like most politicians) depend on the Big Lie theory of government. Which is it?

Voted - can't believe people really want higher taxes. Especially when these same people complain when the price of gasoline goes up a penny!

FReeped!
Even though I no longer live in VA, I am still, officially, a resident. And, politician arrogance has got to be stopped.
"Politicians, like baby diapers, need to be changed often. And for the same reasons!"
Don't know who said that, but FRom time to time, we need to remember this bit of wisdom.
