[I have taken the liberty of excerpting a couple of paragraphs from Mr. Waller's excellent WND article that might be overlooked otherwise. But given the current manufactured outrage at Bush's so-called 9/11 ad, I thought it should be highlighted.]
Kerry unrepentant for pro-Hanoi activism
Local paper described him as 'closest thing to a male Jane Fonda'

Two years later, [Kerry] ran for the U.S. Senate dusting off his veteran's credentials by standing in front of the black Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington to shoot a TV campaign ad, defying regulations that the memorial not be used for political purposes.
The ad "was filmed illegally against the wishes of the National Park Service," according to the Boston Globe. Kerry authorized its broadcast anyway.

It sure would be nice to dig up a still from this campaign commercial. Or at least the Boston Globe article about it.
If anyone has access to Lexis-Nexis it should be available.

Thank you for yet another great piece of information.

Now that you mention it, about 10 years ago I was at the Wall when I saw another congressman strolling through the crowd. He also happened to be a Dem from Mass. and looked nervous about being there. It could have been a legitimate private visit but it would also be easy for an aide to set up a camera on the far sidewalk and take pics or video tape with a telephoto lens. The Park Service wouldn't even need to know.

The wall as a backdrop to a political commercial?
Uhhhhh, doesn't that wall have the names of 50 thousand dead guys on it Mr, Kerry?
Kinda shameful and dispicable to drag them out of their graves and into your commercial, isn't it Mr. Kerry?

That's a slap in the face to every family that lost a son in Viet Nam.

I wonder if that was used in any campaign literature, or ads, etc.?

I can't read the sign on the podium. That could be a legitimate "veterans" event, not a campaign event.

I remember visiting The Wall soon after it was constructed. It was late evening, and the moon was shining down on the black walls. It was a humbling experience to walk past all the names of those brave Americans who gave their lives in Vietnam. "Rest in Peace".

Yeah, I wanted to post it anyway... couldn't quite make out text in the sign on the podium.
I can't help but wonder though... how many Vets there didn't actually want him there... :)

Yes, that is the organization founded and run by Jan Scruggs. I was at the Wall for the dedication and two years later when the flag pole and statue of the three soldiers were added. I was also there when Sen. Chuck Robb gave a Memorial Day speech. It was his first visit and he completely broke down. The only time I ever saw him as sincere.

We need names to differentiate between Kerry's two faces .....
How about John and Jane Kerry !
Whenever anything comes out of Kerry's mouth, it'd be identified as coming from John Kerry or Jane Kerry.
Just a thought......
