Border Patrol vehicle chase ends on post
By Nate Searing
Sierra Vista Herald/Review
FORT HUACHUCA, ARIZONA - Five illegal immigrants in a stolen truck crashed through a barbed wire fence on post Tuesday.
All were later caught have since been deported, authorities said.
A U.S. Border Patrol agent began following the white 1997 Dodge pickup on Highway 90 a few miles north of Sierra Vista at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Border Patrol spokesman Rob Daniels said the vehicle was driving suspiciously and attempted to enter Fort Huachuca from the Main Gate, apparently to avoid the Border Patrol agent that had been following it.
At that point, the truck made a hasty U-turn and sped southbound on Buffalo Soldier Trail, Daniels said.
The truck swerved off the roadway and struck a barbed wire fence just north of Wilcox Drive, coming to a halt just inside the post perimeter.
After a short foot pursuit, the agent apprehended all five of the illegal immigrants in the truck, but the driver could not be identified. All the men were returned to Mexico on Wednesday.
The vehicle, which possessed a fake Arizona license plate, was found to be stolen out of Glendale two weeks ago and has since been impounded by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Daniels said.
TOPICS: News/Current Events; US: Arizona
KEYWORDS: aliens; anarchy; borderintruders; illegalimmigration; invasion
These criminals were caught breaking and entering our country. These border intruders crashed through a fence and entered a sensitive U.S. Army installation during a time of war. The invaders were driving a stolen vehicle. The illegal aliens drove recklessly, endangering American citizens. The illegals had a fake license plate.
Yet, they received no punishment beyond a free ride back to the border so that they can try again tomorrow morning.
This is freaking ridiculous!!! If you or I had done ANY of these things we would either be in jail right now or we would have a serious upcoming court date at which we would face possible jail and stiff fines. These guys were let go.

Personally, if I were still in uniform and a truck crashed through a fence on MY post, it's occupants would be greating God at the Judgement soon afterwards.
You don't crash through fences at Army Posts during war time, and those 5 should be currently feeding maggots.
Called "Lessons Learned" if I remember correctly.
"Oh gee, remember BEIRUT?!" would've been the defense.

Was I being too harsh in my #3 post in this thread?
I just re-read it, and I come off as such a GLOBAL HAWK.
(I am, but I usually don't say so.)

Darksheare you are so right. Another offense to me is that they were sent back to Mexico and not made near permanent guests of a WWII style military stockade.

My brother's nice big Dodge pickup with a large canopy was stolen two weeks ago in Phoenix. I'm sure it's being used as we speak to shuttle illegals over the border.

At LEAST 7/8 violations of US laws on Tuesday, yet all are returned home on Wednesday, with NO CHARGES ever filed.
Looks like GWB has indeed put Fox in charge of our southern borders.

Considering the ops based at Huachucha, they should have all been popped immediately, no questions asked.

It'd be real nice if this was talked about when V. FOX comes into DC later this week.

Sure would, IF it was talked about in the 'major medias'......& I would love to send the e-mails.
Spiff, can you give us a 'ballpark' figure on the fines & jail time any citizen would be facing, if they broke these same laws in AZ. ??

Not harsh at all. I would have shot them. Period. Shoot to kill. Dead. No trip back, no jail time, no slap on the hand. Dead.
Harsh, phooey!

Okers.
I was re-reading what I'd written and went, "Hmm.. Wonder if it sounds too harsh?"
My cat, of course, hissed at me when I asked her.
(Of course, cats would disagree with you just to disagree.)
/ joke.
Thanks.

Well, I'd have done the target practice part when they drove through the fence..
But essentially the same.
