The problem is that oil co. profits soar.
That is the reason for high prices.
There is no unavoidable reason for high prices.
If someone just picked your pocket would you say that crime is higher elsewhere so it's ok to steal mine?

People will pay $1 for 20 oz of water in a bottle, then whine about $2 for 64 oz of refined gasoline.

LOL! That will probably always be since we tax it less and buy huge amounts, but as China and other countries start wanting more, it should get interesting.

Gas prices in Russia 2 weeks ago ... 9 rubles per liter.

$1.23 a gallon using their conversion rates from that time.

Not bad.
