Is this because the authors of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) aren't Guild Members?

Sorry, this came to me by phone as I called regarding the movie and was informed of its disposition. Those interested need to call the WGA's Film Society to confirm. Can someone give me Bill O'Reilly's e-mail address? Thank you --

These people are exercizing their own first amendment right: to NOT see something they wish not to.
Similar to your right to shut the TV off if you don't like what you see.
THe constitution limits GOVERNMENT power, not the right of individuals or private clubs to DISCRIMINATE for or against anything.
It's the essence of genuine freedom: property rights and personal discretion.
While I personally think it silly of them to deny themselves this particular film, it is their right. It's not like they're saying YOU can't go see the film because they don't feel it's worthy.

e, no one is telling me not to see "The Passion of The Christ." But this is the Writers Guild, a very powerful guild of writers responsible for everything you see on TV and film. I am amazed. I do believe that it is a form of cersorship and at the very least it demonstrates their narrow-mindedness and their incredible arrogance.

I don't know what else to do or say. I've been a member of the Guild for years. They gave me no reason for the Film Society's decision. They probably will not divolge their reasons. But it's not being shown--and they show every important movie that is ever released.

Is this because the authors of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) aren't Guild Members? They were members, but they have been stiffing the Guild for their member fees for 2000+ years now ... They had to draw the line somewhere.

The WGA is probably the weakest guild in town, as far as actual power goes. But their health plan has great psychiatric benefits. On the other hand, they have a cash bar at their screenings, and the DGA has an open bar.

Got the Bill O'Reilly e-mail back. What is his e-mail address?

These people are exercizing their own first amendment right: to NOT see something they wish not to. Yep, that's mighty open minded of you, but these folks are proud of staying informed and when a movie of this magnitude comes along you'd think these intellects would want to see it. I wonder if they watched Kill Bill?

Gee whiz, Mig, according to
this news item, you oughta be able to afford a $9 movie ticket, and perhaps a mini jumbo bucket of popcorn and a super extra large cuppa coke, no?

I saw "Kill Bill" at the WGA's Film Society. It's obviously not the violence. It's something else.

You don't get it, do you?
