AUGUSTA, Maine -- A state representative has been summonsed for operating her Jeep under the influence.
Augusta police stopped Rep. Susanne Ketterer, D-Madison, around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday after officers noticed she was driving erratically. Police reports said she had a 0.20 percent blood alcohol content; Maine's legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Is she just smoked, she wouldn't BE in this trouble.
Wonder what a woman is doing out at that hour anyway. Oh well.........not for me to judge.
Just upsets me how the lawmakers sit on their thrones and dictate to the "little people," and they are no better then us!

"Wonder what a woman is doing out at that hour anyway."Isn't it obvious -- she was out drinking !! :)

Hopefully, more of our legilators will be snared by this net they, themselves, have woven. I've always advocated a network to keep an eye on our lawmakers and law-enforcers, so as to notify the police when these people are guilty of violating their own ridiculous laws.
This .08 limit is nothing more than a revenue-generating device (ask the insurance companies), and a reason for the police to nab almost anyone they want to at any time, if they have over one drink at a time.

I believe the Attorney General of WI was stopped for DWI a few nights ago - and her husband is a policeman. Did I say she, too, was a Dem? Of course, it isn't a serious offense because she's not a Conservative.

There was a time when the press performed this Fourth Estate function as a watchdog on government back before they became the lapdogs of the Left.

How true
sad, but true.

You all forget George Bush got caught 130 years ago. Now thats what the so called "Mainstream Media" calls news.
Follow up on these two individuals and I will bet it is covered up. Also check and see if their insurance goes up like ours.
It is the same as John Edwards not paying his property taxes and I will bet you he didnt pay a penalty the way the average Joe or Jane would have had to.

At least she didn't
kill a motorcyclist in the process. But she probably will the next time....after she gets off light this time.

Smoked what, is the question? Isn't Maine one of those "medicinal marijuana" states?
For the first three years of holding a driving licence in most states here in Australia, the legal blood alcohol level is zero.
Even for fully-licensed drivers, it's 0.05. So don't complain YOU'VE got it tough, America...

"Wonder what a woman is doing out at that hour anyway."My cruder side immediately thought "Well, she's a Democrat, so obviously she was out to do what ALL Democrats are out to do: Screw someone."
But my better-mannered side wouldn't allow me to say something like that.

So you wrote it instead. What a well-brought-up person you are. Your mama must be so proud... ;>)
(Actually, the same thought went through my head...)

But my better-mannered side wouldn't allow me to say something like that. I hear you. But what upsets me is.........the lawmakers sit in the state house dictating to US, the little people, and they think their chit don't stink.
Well, let me tell you......they put their pants on one leg at a time, just like us!
What gripes me is: she's married. What is she DOING out at that time of night, drinking and driving. I know there is this woman's lib thing going on and all, but I'm not for it. This woman has a HUSBAND.
Oh well. Whatever floats her boat!

Last call at her favorite bar in Skowhegan at about 12:45. Orders two drinks too carry her until the lights come up at 1:30. Gets in car for 15 minute drive to Madison and... Oops!
0.20 is up there.

"Ketterer was issued a summons and released from police custody."
Is this the general policy regarding DUI arrests? It sure isn't here, a minimum 8 hour stay in the drunk tank is required. Funny how the fascists never have to REALLY experience the true effects of their policies.

Are you recommending she should have smoked an illegal substance, or just cigarettes?
And even if she did smoke (cigarettes), what makes you think she wouldn't drink? I know many people who only smoke when they drink.

And I would pass a smoker on the highway ANY day then a drinker. I was just saying that she should have just smoked a cigarette instead of getting herself plastered. She wouldn't be in this mess today.

Well, you know me and LAWMAKERS! They make me sick, most of them. They sit on their HIGH chair and tell US how to live. They are human, just like us, but by golly, if they are going to play the High and Mightly, they should walk the line and talk the talk! This is a disgrace.
Maybe she didn't get a bill passed by BALDY!
