Vought's exit could drain area of jobs

Closing the Vought Aircraft Industries plant in Nashville would have a large impact on the area's economy, possibly eliminating 1,700 area jobs on top of the 1,000 plant jobs that could be on the chopping block.

Reports out of Texas claim that the Dallas-based company will consolidate all of its manufacturing operations to the Dallas area, bringing 3,000 more jobs to Texas but eliminating jobs in Nashville and Hawthorne, Calif.
