"in an area that until recently was given over to the elevated artery"

Yeah, great, let's dance on the rubble of the Big Dig. Just rub it in why don't you, you creeps.

Truly a no-man's land. And if we're lucky, the stink of fish from the Haymarket stalls will be lingering in the air.

You folks from outside of Boston can't know, but those of us unfortunate souls who are can see what a true insult this really is.

It will be all the usual way-left whackos protesting anyway. Republicans don't protest because we have jobs.

Protesters at this summer's Democratic National Convention in Boston may be confined to a cozy triangle of land off Haymarket Square, blocked off from the FleetCenter and convention delegates by a maze of Central Artery service roads, MBTA train tracks, and a temporary parking lot holding scores of buses and media trucks.

Damn you, George Bush! ;-)

As a suggestion, maybe Boston can arrest all the delegates and force them to sit and listen to the planned tirades. After all, we wouldn't want anyone's 'right to be heard' to be infringed upon!

What we need is a big argon laser, a scanner, and a cloudy night.

We can write protest messages for half the city to see.

Also, regular old slide projectors aimed out windows at billboards and blank walls.

As long as we don't do this within 60 days of the election...

People with money to burn may be interested in one of these. The last link has a 150 mw Green text scanner for (only) $9000, but put in a van it could project bright green laser text on a wall a hundred feet away, or could reverse-project onto one of those white tents you see at outdoor events. The folks inside would see your text scrolling across the tent!

Don't monkey around with this idea, laser safety should be the first concern and all local laws and permits attended to for outdoor laser light shows.
