[history]
Nobody wants to raise this puzzling but important question.
The single most puzzling -- and arguably most important -- question of the day is the one no one raises in public: Why have we not been attacked again?
We are coming up on two and a half years since Sept. 11. Think back: On Sept. 11, everybody was waiting for the other shoe to drop -- within days or weeks, but surely within months. When nothing happened, it was said that al-Qaida works on 18-month cycles, with long planning and preparation.

....it speaks well for an administration that immediately after Sept. 11 designed and carried out a radically new strategy, both offensive and defensive, to fight the war on terror.

The only reason they haven't is because they can't...
if they can, they will.

Thas a great picture. You just know if Gore had that axe, he'd cut off his own head with it.

They have tried, but were obviously unsuccessful. They've now concentrated their efforts elsewhere, particularly in Iraq. We must stay vigilant here at home.

It's like when (sailing Puget Sound) saying,

Something ALWAYS goes wrong immediately after that quote!

True, but we can be attacked from the inside of the United States, instead from outside...

Great logic. We weren't attacked for years after the first WTC bombing under Clinton either. Did Kraut boy write a column about that? Stupid and weak argument.

If we get hit tomorrpw it won't change the fact that we haven't been hit at home for 29 months. And we know they've been trying. To Demonrats such as Kerry that only proves the the threat has been exaggerated. On the other hand, if we were hit tomorrow the cry would be Bush has left us unprotected.
