Saw this article online. The author raises a good question: Do we care whether our professional and olympic athletes use performance enhancers, supplements, or other means to increase their abilities?
To: Irreverent Doyen
No. They should use more in fact. Who was the comedian that came up with some routine based on that? Creating super-human athletes so that they become more entertaining..
Seriously, I don't see where it is my concern, as a member of society, whether they want to take steroids or not. Drug warriors can't argue that they will go insane and kill somebody, or anything like that. Their only argument is that govt. has to protect people from themselves. If THG is even dangerous. Who knows? Let the pro-athletes be the guinnea pigs for us.

If the particular sport bans a performance enhancing substance, then yes, it matters a great deal.
It is called cheating.
