Take this for what it's worth, but I just got off the phone with a friend who works at CNN's DC bureau and she says "they're going crazy" over these Kerry allegations. Crazy in the sense of scrambling to track down everything they can and figure out how they're going to break with this story.

No doubt they'll give kerry the softest landing when they do "break the story." Probably couch it in an introduction about:

...how every normal, non-sexually repressed president like kennedy, clintoon, etc. has had affairs...how affairs are no big deal, especially in the culturally progressive 21st Century...how presidents and presidential contenders are entitled to privacy in their personal lives...how philandering -- even with an intern -- is a private matter that does not reflect on a person's professional capabilities...how kerry's mistress was a perfectly grown woman over the age of 18 who consented to the affair and knew what she was doing...

Unfortunately, we know the drill all too well.
