Global warming turns ugly frozen hellhole into the most beautiful place on earth
Sydney Morning Herald (from the Washington Post) ^ | 2/13/04

Posted on 02/12/2004 7:33:08 AM PST by dead

Going, going ... two photographs released by Greenpeace - top, taken in 1928
and bottom, January 2004, show the decrease in size of the Upsala Glacier in the
Patagonia region of Argentina. Greenpeace says it is dramatic evidence of the effects
of climate change. It said rising temperatures are causing glaciers in the Patagonia
area to melt at a rate of 42 cubic kilometres a year - faster than anywhere else on earth.

Glacier Lake in Alaska wouldn't even exist had it not been for glacial recession. But not all glaciers ARE receding. Depends on the glacier and mid-term weather.

Quote from the above site:
"Understanding the non-climatic controls on the behavior of calving glaciers is an important problem if we want to use the historic and contemporary record of change of calving glaciers as indicators of climate change. And this problem is especially important in Patagonia where almost all of the outlet glaciers are (or were until recently) actively calving into fiords or freshwater lakes."

And as soon as they start digging things up, they'll find that it was inhabited previously...which would mean....

that they had SUVS millions of years ago.

I think the fight against Global Warming ought to be put off... First they ought to stop Continental Drift, and the asteroids from flying by so close to us...

I live in Upstate New York within a mile of Lake Ontario. As usual, we're looking forward to the "end of our annual ice age".

Buy an SUV today. Our great, great, great, great grandchildren deserve better.

If you look at those photos, I think you'll come up with a "the pictures are phoney". They are toooooo identical if you look at the peaks and lines.

You have a long wait. How long is it going to take for 12 feet of snow to melt?
