Rumsfeld supports Israel's need for nukes (Great quote...)

US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld expressed support for Israel's need for nuclear weapons at a NATO meeting in Munich, reported Ynet Wednesday.

When asked about the US administration's leniency on Israel's alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction, Rumsfeld, without denying or asserting that Israel in fact possessed these, answered unhesitantly:

"We take the world like you find it; and Israel is a small state with a small population. It's a democracy and it exists in a neighborhood that in many – over a period of time has opined from time to time that they'd prefer it not be there and they'd like it to be put in the sea. And Israel has opined that it would prefer not to get put in the sea, and as a result, over a period of decades, it has arranged itself so it hasn't been put in the sea."

Referring to the ongoing Israel – Palestinian struggle, Rumsfeld said that "a lasting solution in that part of the world is going to come because people are exasperated, exhausted and tired of seeing their opportunities for prosperity go down the drain and tired of listening to people shoot off their mouths and ... weapons and fire bullets and no one deliver a ... thing for the people."

Now Rumsfeld will be scoured in the Middle East for his "fascist" statement. But in their hearts, many of the people there will know he's right.

With whom would Kerry replace Rumsfeld?

Arafat, if he thought he could get away with it.

Clark's sentences meet only the most minimal of requirements to be called "meaningful." That's not even taking the ambiguity into consideration. With Rumsfeld, you get ambiguity for the sake of national security, not personal aggrandizement.

"With whom would Kerry replace Rumsfeld?"

Jacques Chirac is his first choice since DeGaulle is dead.

This is exactly what Israeli representatives have been saying for years. That Israel exists in a very nasty neighborhood and has to take measures appropriate to it. Israel is not in Europe or North America where disputes can be settled amicably.

Euros and the UN like to play a pretend game that Israel is surrounded by civilized nations when reality is it's surrounded by Muslim maniacs

You forgot to add the part that says "Generals do not win wars, their soldiers do."
