Cuomo Warns Dems: Don't Call Bush a Liar

Former Gov. Mario Cuomo advised Democratic presidential candidates who voted in favor of the war in Iraq to refrain from accusing President Bush of lying about the circumstances that led to military action.
"If you start calling him a liar then what he has to do is go to that microphone and say, 'It breaks my heart. I made a mistake, there's no question about it. I did not lie, and I want you to believe me, and I'm your president,"' Cuomo said Tuesday. "I wouldn't risk it."
According to Cuomo, candidates who supported the war should tell the public: "We looked at the same intelligence (President Bush) did, and it fooled us the way it fooled (him). Shame on us. We should have looked harder. We're sorry. We'll get rid of the old intelligence team and put in a new one and do what we have to do." Speaking at an event sponsored by the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee, a group of Democratic women involved in New York politics, Cuomo said the candidates should opt for a more conciliatory approach.

Too little, too late Mario. BTW, don't try and interject rational thought processes into a campaign dominated by emotions. They won't listen anyway.

Holy cow, what in the word was Cuomo smoking? I haven't heard him make this much sense in, oh, forever.

Does Cuomo think people like Moore, Franken, Gore, Daschle, Soros and 90% of the entertainment industry can keep their mouths shut? LOL.

Nice try, Cuomo, but we'll get our political advice elsewhere.

LOL! I wonder if this has anything to do with the 2 callers Rush has had on his program the last couple of days. Both of the women were so outraged over the democrats' actions toward the President. Both were ranting a little, and ONE OF THEM WAS AN INDEPENDENT! She said that she usually waits until much closer to the election to make up her mind, but today she was watching the WH press conference, and it made her so mad she called the Republican headquarters and volunteered to help.
I think Mr. Cuomo understands what's going on. I understand demographics and I can tell you those 2 phone calls represented THOUSANDS of people (and because it's Rush's show it could represent hundreds of thousands of people - because of his huge listening audience). Unfortunately, the dems are blinded by their lust for power and won't pay attention.

There were WMD in Iraq. Probably still some there to this day. I'm gonna have to side with President Bush on this one.

LOL! Cuomo knows better than that. Our President did not make ANY MISTAKE. And .. our President knows that! Cuomo has nothing upon which to support such a thought.
Nice try tho!

This is Cuomo's way of saying "Bush is a liar, but we shouldn't be stupid enough to say so directly". His message is the first part of that sentence. Never forget that Cuomo is a traitor who tried to flip electors after the last election.

When Mario was governor, he used to have a show on Friday evening on the public radio network. I would listen to it on the hour it took me to get to my date after work.
The interviewer (Allen someone) asked the governor about it being okay to lie sometimes in his role as governor. Mario replied with this analogy:
If someone knocks on the door and asks if my son is home, I can tell him 'no' if I don't think it is in my son's best interest to play at that moment (paraphrased).
He went on in his pontificating way to explain that lying is okay if there is justification. I tried to get a copy of that program but was never able to.
The point being, the man supports lying to the public if you can rationalize it in your own mind. Expert on lying that he is, perhaps his party should take heed.
