He has the distinction of giving away the Panama Canal. It was bad enough that he lost Iran and that he didn't oppose the Russians in Afghanistan and that he let the hostage situation drag out for over 400 days and that he lost a number of troops in his hastily prepared "rescue attempt" in desert one.
But he violated every common sense principle of national security, and it was entirely unnessary, when he gave away the canal.
His behavior now says he's an internationalist of the worst sort -- world socialist definitely. He probably was then, too.
