Update to Freepers.

Since my post last night and the prayers you answered with, my wife has made good progress.

She had been just about able to whisper from the anesthesia and pain medication. Her mouth was so dry and could only use a sponge on her lips. Today was much better and they promise to start liquids tomorrow.

Her pain has subsided and her use of a Patient Control system has dimished [which helps the speaking]. Fever is down, the huge redness around her wounds has lessened. She still has a lot of unusual sensations. She likens it to a fellow who has lost a leg and thinks he can wiggle his toes.

Sleep is still a problem. She has had a heart attack and any tinge keeps her anxious [you mothers know the feeling of light sleeping with an infant - it's like that]. She also worried about an embolism. After Doctors gave her reassurance she was able to get a few winks [but at night Hospital doctors have a lot to do and take time to get to her].

Peristalis [sp?] started and output has happened. Drains came out late in the day. Hopefully catherer tomorrow.

All in all, it was an improved day. Your prayers have helped her and myself more than you know. God is the only indispensible One and prayer is how we communicate.
